I think I'm the mad red head but I'm worried everyone will be sat twiddling their thumbs waiting for me to return so I thought I would just leave something for everyone to get stuck into whilst I'm away!!

Re: "Portraits Around the World" Homework Thread.

Hi Linda!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good for you. I'll be doing a few of me so don't worry. You know you can bluff it. Do a half face and only paint the parts you like. Focus on those and you'll be fine and I know you have a wonderful smile for a start!!!!!!!

Hi Guilliame!!!!!!!! I wonder how much her flight cost to here from the other thread! That's cheating Guilliame, new works only in this thread and I'm afraid it's a children free zone too. I'm afraid this costs you a forfeit of definitely having to join in with a self portrait!

I like Linda and Guilliames tiny head images. I think they both look fantastic so these two should make amazing subjects.

Please just try to have fun with this. It's only a warm up and aimed for the bin NOT serious. That will come much later as we travel across a variety of countries looking at different cultures and faces.

I have a few photos to pull out from my travels so we can go across Asia and the Middle East and I think we should be okay looking for subjects from USA and Europe!

I wonder if I'll scare everyone off with this idea of a self portrait?

I bet Bob will join in though. I'll bet a bar of chocolate he does! ( And I NEVER bet! )

Jean.

Re: "Portraits Around the World" Homework Thread.

Jutta....................I'm in fits now!!!!!! Those little faces are so cute!

Greg? Crickets?...........Lucky you, a while ago all I could hear was complete silence but then I realised I hadn't really scared anyone off. They were all sleeping!!!!!!!!!!!

There goes my bet, I won a bar of chocolate!

Way to go Bob!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I just explain something here please?

The very first self portrait in this tutorial has very little information on how to paint it. I've left the suggestion of how I would like everyone to work but I really want your own style to shine now. Fly with your own ideas and have fun. Just paint for a giggle. When we approach this later with all the information hopefully there will be a big improvement in all our paintings!

Jean who is lucky she isn't in paintbrush throwing distance!!!!!
