The Carriage Factory Gallery will host a special exhibit of small and miniature art during the month of December. The exhibit will open Saturday, November 25 and will be part of the gallery's annual "Festival of Holiday Tables" and "Five Places of Christmas" events.

Our Exhibit …

The Carriage Factory Gallery’s exhibit will include “small” art up to a maximum size of 35 square inches (unframed) and three-dimensional work up to 8 inches in any direction.

Exhibit Rules

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists, 18 and over.

MEDIA: Any two- or three-dimensional fine art media, including non-digital photography, hand pulled prints, pottery, fiber and sculpture. (No crafts or reproductions will be accepted.)

SIZE: Two-dimensional work must be no larger than 35 square inches (not including the frame). Three-dimensional artwork must be no larger than 8x8x8 inches, including the base, and must be securely attached to the base or must stand freely if no base is required.

Two-dimensional work must be framed or have wrapped, finished edges, be dry and ready to hang.

Three-dimensional work must be original and not made from kits or pre-cast forms.

IDENTIFICATION: All work must be properly identified by title, medium, artist and price. Art should be available for sale.

NUMBER OF ENTRIES: Artists may submit up to four entries.

ENTRY FEES: A non-refundable entry fee of $25 includes up to four works. Electronic payment of the entry fee may be made to the Carriage Factory Gallery through our PayPal account, using our email, [email protected].

Payment may also be made by personal check. Checks should be made out to the Carriage Factory Gallery and mailed to the Carriage Factory Gallery, 128 East Sixth Street, Newton, Kansas 67114.

NOTE: Entry fees will be used to fund cash awards and/or to promote the show. Cash Awards for First, Second and Third Place will be awarded by the Newton Fine Arts Association Board of Directors prior to the opening of the show.

Purchase Awards will be awarded at the discretion of the businesses or individuals making the awards. Paintings receiving Purchase Awards will be considered sold.

All award-winning paintings will be so identified for the duration of the exhibit.

Award payments will be made on the same basis as payments for regular sales.

SALES: A 40% commission will be charged on all sales. Artists will be notified in the event of a sale and will receive checks approximately three weeks after the close of the show.

INSURANCE: The Carriage Factory Gallery carries insurance on all exhibits while artwork is in the gallery’s possession. Gallery insurance DOES NOT cover damage or loss during transit.

Exhibit Deadlines & Events

Entries Due: September 1, 2006
Artists Notified: October 1, 2006
Delivery of Artwork: November 7 – 11, 2006
Show Opening: November 25, 2006
Show Closes: December 23, 2006
