Scavenger Hunt #3
Welcome to our third Scavenger Hunt from Life! I was the proud winner of the second scavenger hunt and have got the opportunity to provide the list for third Scavenger Hunt.
But first, rules of the game: - All items must be sketched or painted from life---no photo references nor from imagination.
- As before, be as “creative” with the subjects as you want. Multiple subjects in a single drawing/painting is fine. Count them all!
- No time limit on the sketches…as much or as little detail as you wish.
- Any medium is welcomed.
- All items need to be drawn or painted new from the date this scavenger hunt starts.
- No certain order for completion. Number as you go to keep track of how many you've done.
- Feel free to ad a tidbit about the item and/or what made you select it.
Here goes the list:
Scavenger Hunt #3
- a mirror
- a large suitcase / trunk
- a balcony / terrace
- what on dinner tonite
- cds
- belt / waistband
- toilet [you got it right…the pot….. somethings are never so lucky to be usual drawing subjects so I chose it ]
- a clock/watch
- an equipment that heats/cools the room
- a clothes line / drying rack
- your wardrobe
- a toy
- a calendar
- your nameplate / name board/house number/mailbox
- letter box
- torch
- 3 vegetables
- a matchbox
- an animal[cockroach/lizards/spiders etc] OR thing[dirty clothes/spilled ashtrays/old newspaper etc] that you cannot stand in your house
- a tree/plant
- an old lady
- medicines
- a frozen item
- a glass item
- toiletries
- your favourite corner/place in your house
So go ahead enjoy sketching.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #3
hello,
suw - i'm glad you liked the list.
nitsa - sorry, some of the words must be Indian english. Well a name plate/name board is the signpost that you have in front of your house/or on your door with your name on it. tells who stays in this house/flat/mansion
hope clear. If there is a better word for this item, then let me know and I will add it to the list for easy reference.
rgds,

Re: Scavenger Hunt #3
Great list Rohit. Not many people have house/flat signage here, so that may be a challenge, but perhaps we can find someone who does and draw that. Or what about a town sign? Would that do?

Re: Scavenger Hunt #3
A good challenge Rohit! I don't have a name plate maybe as Jeanette says a city sign or maybe my street sign?

Re: Scavenger Hunt #3
Like Jeanette, we don't have a lot of signs on our houses saying who lives there. Not even on the mailbox at the street. We don't even have numbers posted on our house right now as we are in process of painting the outside. I will have to be really creative to do this item.
Quite a few home invasion/burglars who would love us to post our name outside so they can use it to get us to open the door for them.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #3
hi jeanettes and mary,
ok, now we have a problem with the nameplate / name board. so i think we will go with city/street/locale/inn/bar signboard. hope this is easier. whoever finds and sketches one of those antique signboards you have in front of inns/bars will have an applause from me.
i will write to Jamie and request her to edit my original post for this if possible
need to start sketching now.
rgds,

Re: Scavenger Hunt #3
Hello again!
Here goes for my first installment for this scavenger hunt. I am really enjoying myself doing these scavenger hunts as they have really remotivated me for my drawing.
Having said that, I got quite fed up with this one and it's not terribly wonderful because I started to lose patience and it shows.
Anyhow, items 3,(balcony)6 (belt/waistband),9 ( something to heat or cool,in this case a cooling fan) ,and 10 ( drying rack). Lots of things wrong with perspective and tone ...my big "betes noires"!![IMG]
I was 3 off from finishing the last list before the thread closed...grrrr! LOL
This list is challenging to say the least Rohit!
Take care all.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #3
Rohit - Thanx for the other options.
Fleur - Beautiful sketch full of character and I believe you have GLASS windows in there too which covers the glass item doesn't it?
