That We Forgot/ oil

And here's the other.
This is the first in a series. It's a 24 x 48 inch board. No strange items added to this one- it's just plain old oil. LOL!

Detail:

See ya!

heeheee, just plain ole oil
the color on this is exciting; more unique combinations from your palette
the warmth of the background is nicely counteracted by that cold blue though I feel like the background might be winning, the field is large
I'm wondering if some cool/dark/black (did you use black?) strokes and maybe some subtle but similar shapes could be added to the diagonal lower quad from the mask (my silly mind trying to balance everything)
it's great the way it stands, I like the lines/drips (?), continues the feel of the masks tendrils and its feeling throughout the panel

I'm thinking this too but not sure either.

very cool - I am more interested in the background than the mask somehow

Thanks Guys!
I'm not sure about this one, either. But, I'm wondering how much it's the image, cuz the background's bothering me some here too. It doesn't IRL, though. I think maybe some of the detail in the mask got lost....maybe. Anyway, I'm going to let it sit and I'll brood on it awhile.
An option that I was originally considering was putting a border with a pattern in it along the bottom. But I let the idea go this afternoon because I thought it made tha background too interesting. What do you think?
It would really help if I had written down where these masks I'm doing came from. I was a dingdong, though, and I didn't think of it. I don't want to stick an African border on an Oriental mask, or visa versa........
No black, Zot....a bunch of Ultramarine Blue, though. It sort of looks like smoke is engulfing the mask. There actually are repeating shapes in the background cuz I used cellophane to pull paint up. Maybe that's why it looks so different here! You can't see the cellophane texture. Hmmmmmm..... I gotta brood.

your description of the texture sounds like it adds so much (another I'd love to see live)
I'm thinking I like it very much without the pattern/border though of course that's your call, letting it sit for a stew sounds good
It's more every time I see it
