No problem.

But dont think too much.
There is a ting, you have to be very random.

Change shealds often. That helps alot.

Re: True Fire / Realistic Flames Challenge

Hi All

Here is my next practice with the local candys, I dont think they have the pop, I think the colours are different to the HOK candys, well I will just have to practice some more to get it correct.

All help welcome.

Re: True Fire / Realistic Flames Challenge

Hey Folks,

I'm back with my 2nd attempt at True Flames.
It took me about 4 hr to complete.
I used an old street sign I had hanging in the garage as my canvas.

I used AA transparent colors.
They are as follows:
Trans white
Trans orange
Trans sun gold
Trans fire red
I also used a flat black auto primer from a rattle can as my base coat, and a rattle can clear to as my top coat.

I had allot of fun doing this and I also learned a couple of things along they way.
I know it's not very good, but I'm fairly happy with the results. As I do more of this type of thing, I'll surely improve, I hope ?
Please let me know how I could do better on my next try.
Oh ya, the whole in the middle of the flames is where the sign was anchord to the post, I would imagine ?

Re: True Fire / Realistic Flames Challenge

Here is my attempt at doing fire. I did this to try out Auto Air's candy colors. The skull was done with golden fluids. It was done on an 18"x12" piece of galvanized steel.

Re: True Fire / Realistic Flames Challenge

Thanks Sam.

I saw that thread, and am planning on doing one. I was actually thinking of trying the fire, but all I have here at the moment to paint on is a piece of gesso board I got to try out. However, that's somewhat textured so I thought one of the others might look better on it.

Re: True Fire / Realistic Flames Challenge

There are some great pictures here but no-one has actually done a step by step, it would help out a great deal.
