Aloysius

This was a quick ink jobby I did last night.
The dude with the shovel is the main character from a graphic novel I've been working on for about 8 months.

This was really just an exercise to see how much heavy ink I could glob all over a page and still have it turn out alright. I was satisifed with it.
C&C welcome, of course.

Oh yeah. I did all of the inking with a brush. First time I ever used just a brush.

LOL! I love the look on the smiley face! This looks good Mazurkis. I always try to ink with a brush. I do use a thick sharpie for big black areas though. Looks like you used a paper with alot of tooth to it? I usually use the slickest surface I can find for my inks, but this may be the look you're looking for so don't mind me. Oh, hope the novels going good too

Re: Aloysius

The rough stock is because I was planning to do a lot of dry brush effects but when I started doing it at the bottom there, I didn't like how it was going, so I just globbed on the ink.
I used a Tria brushpen filled with India ink for the black area. I can usually make it go on smoother, which is why I prefer it to a marker.

Thanks.

I felt like drawing a guy eating cereal.
So I used Aloysius.
Brush and rapidograph on pastel paper.

Full size here.
