1 - Flowers Challenge

Drawing flowers are a good subject to start painting. They are not intimidating as trying to paint other subjects like portraits (people always want likeness ), still lifes (oooops! how difficult is to paint textures, make bottles and vases symetric...) and....so on....

One can paint flowers and if they are not very similar...well.... it doesn't matter... you can always paint beauties....Everybody will like them....

Here is a collection i've been gathering some time ago from the RIL. I chose them because they had some interesting features to paint...like drops of dew, light reflections, unusual compositions, textures.....

Well....lets stop all this chat and.......pick up that stylus or mouse and lets start painting the soul of these beauties!........

Here's the first one , started to try and draw the outline with a grid but kept losing where I was so got rid of the grid and did the rose leaf by leaf it was hard but as I couldn't sleep it passed the time

aww Lady, you did a fantastic job; it is so pretty, great shadows.

Great idea on this one as I love to do flowers. I have some of these saved and wanted to try acrylics, but will love to do them digitally.....wooohooo.

Re: 1 - Flowers Challenge

thanks Marge, Aggie and Kareen

Marge , your rose is beautiful and I agree with Aggie it does have a porcelain look to it , I didn't spend to much time on mine between cups of tea, reading a book, this and that )

Kareen what can I say, used Painter IX, Artists Oils, clumpy ? (I think, I never remember from minute to minute ) and as I said started with a grid, got rid of it and just painted leaf to leaf
