The mood/atmosphere and composition are really doing it for me.
I can't begin to tell you how much I like this painting.

great morning haze
acidic warmth to it
headlights eerie
along with the march of stacks
wet dawn tension
grind is imminent
reproduction of the previous day

splendid,
sorry you're fried
this is fantastic

Lightbulb

Great colours, feeling, and the lights work so well.
Feels like I'm breathing that smoggy air... I'm there.

This piece is very powerful. I like the way you brought colors into objects without straining your palette. A limited palette can be strong when used properly, which you do with great expertise here.

Having lived in cities for so much of my life I can appreciate this scene. I always loved the early morning hours before the bustle started up and people were over running the streets.

What medium did you use? How big is the piece? How long did it take you to complete?

the pallette on these is so warm and beautiful, I'd love to see a pic of the series hanging together, bet they look great next to each other.

this one does it for me so well, I have a fascination with delivery trucks.

Wow, thanks! I'm feeling so refreshed after reading everyone's comments. I'll be pulling an all nighter again today and I feel like I can do it now. The show opening is Friday -- hope I don't sleep through it.

MMK - thanks, I've been working towards a looser style and hoping I could still get the feeling of being there.

Dom - Coming from you, this means a lot! (I'm a big fan )

Zotma - I love it when you talk like that! If I'd of thought of that, I'd put it in my statement.

Amorphis - thanks much, don't take deep breaths!

Sassy -- thanks gal! This is acrylic, 24 x 30, took about 28-30 hours. I love that early morning in the city thing too. Especially after a storm.

Cindy -- LOL...I'm getting a little ripe too. Gotta drag myself out of the studio and into the shower today!

El - hehe, the airs too thin up there -- I'm used to that air you gotta chew a little before you breath it in.

Jnet - thanks. Mame's kind of inspired me to go with those warm tones. Delivery trucks, huh? Is there a story there?

Amy - yup, fried is usually worth it. thanks

Victoria - thanks, it's been a wet winter here, guess I've got rain on the brain.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. This is a different direction for me and it's feeling real good to me. Glad to hear it's not looking too bad either.

Gisela

These are really powerful. You know, I used to have to be at work at 5 am, and while it was still dark at that time, I got to see the beginings of the day: delivery trucks, folks carrying around their coffee cups, the headlights breaking through that early morning fog (hehehehe, smog).....this is it, and you've got it right there in that painting.
Good luck with your show! Keep us posted, okay? You know what would be really cool? I'd love to see a picture of these hanging together.....that way we could be there too, you know, in our own weird internet kinda way.....
