bathroom jungle mural WIP

Hi y'all,
Here are progress pics of a bathroom mural. The niche is over the tub, which is right in the middle of this huge bathroom. The space is about 8' high and 4' wide or maybe a little less.

Beginning.. taped and sketched with charcoal

after about 1 hour...

after 3 1/2 hours ....

after 5 hours ... about my limit for one day

close-ups...

I see that I've made faces in the rock formations. Will have to fix that. More pics tomorrow.

Ruth

WOW Ruth, this is looking beautiful. <Shaking my head>...maybe one day I'm thinking how awful my first landscape looks to this, and how long it took (and all the redo's lol), compared to this. But all that's fine...you inspire me to do work like this once I learn what I need to know. Thanks so much for breaking this down so step by step....it helps me to "see" and understand what you are doing. So enjoying watching this....looking forward to the updates.

This is stunning!! It's amazing how quickly you have built in depth and rich contrast. It looks like it was a great day's work. Now put your feet up and marvel at yourself.

Ruth, I just love the way you paint! I wish I could paint loosely like you, but alas, I can't. I over-work detail. Your landscapes are beautiful. I am amazed at how fast you do this.

Me, too, Sue. I paint and repaint over and over, wish I could do half what you do in this amount of time, Ruth... I'm thinking it's time to hang up my brushes... you are AMAZING. When are you putting out a video??????

Re: bathroom jungle mural WIP

Yeah FAST! I love to see how differently people paint, I tend to get all my under painting done first then I start adding to it!

I was looking to see if Ruth posted any more pictures!

I love your style of painting Ruth, looks great!

Re: bathroom jungle mural WIP

Day 2, about 4 1/2 hours more work on it. I couldn't sleep last night, so I got tired and quit early today. I don't paint well when I'm tired or hurting. It's more efficient just to quit and go take a nap!

closeups....
