Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Desires and anxieties

Hello,

I am Marvin Chan from Malaysia. I took up painting full time
a year ago, and this is what I got.

These are from a series of 40 paintings which I worked on
to build my language.

Up to date, I feel they are still in development stage.

Outline:
In this series, I use the canvas to collect and process
the sentiments I get from people I spend time with.

Since I do listen to alot of their problems, I feel a sense of
destitute in the paintings. Which I think makes
human relations a giant soap opera.

Anyway, please feel free to share your opinion.

MArvin Chan

Marvin, these are treasures! I really like each one equally..your work is fantastic and I hope you will keep on this track for some time to come. Colours are exquisite. What size are they? What medium are you using? So very well done!!

P.S....I see you spend a great deal of time with women!

Thank you for the remarks.

Yes I do spend a great deal of time with women.
It may very well be that there are fewer men in my area.

Thanks,

if you'd like to know...

the third one is about being let down...
...it is about girl whose lover didn't go further into knowing her...
...she not better off herself...her face is not clear...
...As for the girl...see the faintly scratched out haute couture on the right...
...a wedding dress...
...The windows to her soul shut...it gets really cold...
...romance is tragic...

The first one is about being scrutinized...

...but in the case of romance, who actually get to hold the magnifying glass.
...who is actually in control?
...An apple in her right hand, her left hand behind her back...
...the "writing on the wall"...

...The butterfly is motionless, to be studied...
...but who gets affected...not the butterfly...

The lines;
I've looked at you with the focus I
gave to my bithday candles...

...And I will pretend I don't know of your sins...

...But I don't know how to live without my hands on your throat...

...I use as signs to illustrate her thoughts, her dialogue with herself, rehearsed, debated, questioned and answered. over and again. it's her currency.
