What's on Your Easel for April 2006
Welcome to “What’s on Your Easel” for the month of April!
Please post paintings in oil paint that you are currently working on or have just finished!
Everyone is welcome to post in this thread - Newbies and experts, as long as the work is in oil paint!
This is mostly a “show and tell” thread, if you would like more detailed help, the main oil forum would be more able to give you a full answer.
I’m looking forward to seeing your work!

Pssst, Mary! If no one else shows up to post their artwork, we can split all of the blueberry buckle between ourselves!
I'm looking forward to sharing the blueberry buckle with all of you! I can't wait to see your work!

Re: What's on Your Easel for April 2006
lol, you guys are funny--now, Barb, I hope that's not an April Fool's joke...because it sure looks tasty and I'd have a slice with some ice cream if you've got it!
Tracy--that's looking beautiful! You didn't ask for any comments, so I hope that it's okay I mention this...the one thing that bugs me (ever so slightly) is so many hard edges you have...almost looks like the various pieces are pasted on. (Ie, the edges of the horizon and the road and the buildings especially.) But you're still working on it, so I'm sure it will turn out great!!

Carey - It's no joke! I seriously love blueberry buckle!
Carey and Bert - Hmmm, I hadn't thought of adding ice cream, but that would be delicious! Here you go!

Gay - Your little stork is really looking good. The shadow really adds so much! The feathers are looking great! Keep up the good work!

Re: What's on Your Easel for April 2006
Thanks Barb, it's in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan, Houghton and Hancock. It's at the base of the finger at the very top. It's rocky and hilly on the northern side of the Upper. At the top of the hill, those buildings are abandoned copper mines.
Thanks Carey, I'll keep on, yes there are some edges to work on, and the buildings are very brown yet, the road will be lighter.

Re: What's on Your Easel for April 2006
LOL Barb...I have coffe with mine. On a diet ya know
Gay, I love the bird's shadow. Just makes it.
Tracy, Good going.
I'm trying to use Copal. It worked ok on my daughter's wedding day peek painting so thought I would try another girly girl one. I love frilly stuff. It's on an old canvas prepared with gesso and acrylic alizarin. It might just make a big mess. Using paint from old palette that's been in the freezer. Lot's to do on it. C & C always welcome.
