prospector's treasure

Thought I would share with the forum a piece that I entered in a local juried competition. I knew this old guy when I was a kid growing up in South Dakota. He raised a family panning gold.

I won't know how I did until Thursday of this week. I dropped off the painting on Friday. Fingers crossed at this point.

This is beautiful work Les, real rich colours, great light, and an excellent composition. Best of luck in the show

Well done. Really like the reflection off the glasses. Whoa! Has a great sense of presence, place, time and space.

Re: prospector's treasure

I guess I will never know what is the motivation behind the pieces that are chosen for a juried show. I thought "Prospector's Treasure" would be chosen for sure. I entered two pieces for the show and they ended up chosing the one I would not have picked. I attached the piece they chose. Oh well, at least I had something accepted.

Re: prospector's treasure

I'm surprised both weren't accepted as they are both so well done and show your versatility. Congrats on getting into the show too!
