Tiger - update - graphite
Well, here is an update to my tiger drawing. I have added a background and a log under the tiger's arms with a 4b charcoal pencil. I also started to darken the tiger more with graphite and I'm still working on the hair along his arms and paws. Comments are quite welcome
PS: Will be posting this in the Drawing/Sketching forum as well.

He's coming along beautifully, Murray. Well, he was beautiful before, truth be told, but he's getting even better all the time. What are you using for his black stripes?

Artdude,
What were you worried about? This is coming along great! I like what the background did for the piece as a whole and the fur effects on his paws and forearms is looking good.
I apologize, you've probably told us the dimensions on this before, but I forget.
This will be a really cool piece when you get it done. Thanks for keeping us updated.
Have a great day!

AriadneArts thanks for commenting For the black stripes I am using a Staedtler Mars Lumograph 100 8b pencil. I love that pencil
greencook Not THAT worried... animal hair just makes me a bit nervous The original size is about 8" X 10". Thanks for your coments

Nice work indeed Murray. As a suggestion, and you probably are already planning on doing this... make sure you beef up some of the values where there would be shadows between the paws and background. That will surely help it pop out!

Thanks for commenting Larry Yes, I am planning to "beef up the values" in that area. After that, I think I will be just about done with this drawing.

I think he looks just so amazing. You've captured his strength and beauty perfectly in this image. He looks so strong and beautiful, so gental and just so amazing. I think I'm falling in love with him!

I love your tiger too artdude!
I think he's coming along nicely, and he has so much personality! Kind of that lazy mischievous look. The only thing I see that doesn't look quite right is his left eye (possibly because you haven't got to it yet?) but the right one (closer) looks lazy and relaxed, while the other seems more open and alert.
Geeez, I just want to cuddle up with him, he's so furry and sweet!

Thanks Axl_Happy_Goth
Thank you Wingnut You're right about the eye thing. It doesn't look quite right...so I am still going to work on correcting that.

I agree with Larry, define with shadowing between the paws and background, under the chest, and darken background on the
right side along the tigers face, it will all help push the cat foreward gleninca

Thanks for your comments glenica I will do more darkening of those areas. I now see a problem with the tiger's left eye (your right). It just doesn't seem right to me. Maybe it's just the funny angle of it

artdude, I tend to ignore the right eye, because I can see that it is not the eye, but the patern around the eye that people are thinking is the eye, if you look closely you can not actually see the eye, just the corner, good work, keep it up gleninca
