Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House

It's the end of a very long frustrating day (computer wise or maybe wiseless would be better)

Love all the beads, I posted mine on my blog. I haven't done that in a very long time.

Karen happy news all the way around.

Alli I'd be happy to be a grandparent but you'd have to come visit and send pictures

Maggie could you please send some of that warm/hot weather up here, it's been so cold and miserable. I should have been torching in this weather but Fred painted the floor in there and I have 2 new fleece to wash and dye and 3 more coming soon.

Diane it sounds like a great trip, I can't wait to see the pics.

Hi Mallory

Tami I'm guess you are having a lot of fires down your way, stay safe and listen to what Maggie says.

Well I guess I will go check out S&T as my eyes and fingers don't seem to be in sinc at the moment, thank heaven for the back space key.

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House

Sueze, Did you get our warm weather? I know it was sent because it is cooler here and even rained yesterday. Too cold to swim for this chicken. Tomorrow it's supposed to warm up again so hope it got to you!

Karen, I'm glad I remembered to vote, though we don't have many things on the ballot. Got my "I Voted" sticker, my favorite part because I am such a child. You must be getting so excited for Saturday! Wishing you all a wonderful wedding day!

No torching, hanging out with the nieces. Hoping the clouds aren't blocking the sun because we are going to the observatory to look through their telescopes to see Venus in front of the sun. Doesn't happen for another 100 years or so.

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House

Maggie the sunshine arrived today I hope it will stick around for a while. I guess that means i wash/dye fleece today. I made sheep beads yesterday even though I didn't feel like it.

Karen sorry I feel that way after each election here.

Have a great day everyone I"m planning on having one.

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House

Hi campers

Ugh. I hate cars, and hate being dependent on them. I'm sitting at the garage, waiting for the guys to look at my Honda. Tires, brakes and...a something else (hopefully not transmission!). Looks like I'll be trapped here most of the day, so no torching this afternoon *sniffle*

Oh Karen, I saw the election results on the news. That S*CKS. I cannot believe people sometimes. And I read your bathtub trained dog story *grin* what a good puppy!

Heh, you might be sorry offering grandparent duties Sueze; I am the queen of pictures. It's the one (and only) reason I like my iPad3 better than the original. It has cameras! Seriously though, I do feel bad for the Monkeybutt. No grandparents around to spoil him rotten.

Alli

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House

Karen, I'm sure the wedding was beautiful and you all had a wonderful time! How exciting! I haven't been to a wedding in years.

Alli, Hope you escaped the mechanics without too much of a dent in your finances. Why are car parts so expensive?

Sueze, Hope you've had lots of good days since being here.

Tried to get on WC yesterday, but it wouldn't load. Had a great week with the kids (16 to 20 year olds) and they wore me out. Funny thing is, they wore themselves out even more. They left Friday. Yesterday I torched for a bit and I'm working on some art journaling for the first time. Going to torch a bit today when the morning blur is out of my eyes.

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House

Hi all...the wedding was pheonomenal....it was actually a party with a wedding. Crazy fun! Aurora was a beautiful flower girl...will try to post pics tomorrow...but I always have such a hard time...I posted a bunch on facebook....Go to Karen Crown and check out my timeline.

As far as the finances....in order to be fair to both my kids...we told them we had x amount of money for them...they could use it for a wedding or a downpayment for a house....Tracey chose the wedding...Steve said he'd never get married....never say never....so he used it for a downpayment for his house 2 years ago....both in-law families understood....it was all good.

well...gotta go I will check in tomorrow. hugs

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House

2 days of sun 2 days of rain and now we are back to sun for today so I'm outside dyeing more fleece. I broke down and bought a new hot plate for dyeing and a mile hight pile of fleece so no torching today. They say it will rain tomorrow so will get to the torch then. Our bead meeting is this Saturday and I haven't made the challenge bead yet. It is raised florals, something I have done before but probably not as good as the rest are going to be but I thought I would use strange colours for it and that might make it ok.

Maggie keep sending the sun!! glad you had a good time with the kids.

Karen I'll try and check out FB later today for the wedding pics.

My mind is a million miles away and it seems my fingers have been left to fend for themselves and they aren't doing to well with hitting the right keys so I will say buy for now.

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House

Auugghh! Don't make me go to Facebook Karen LOL I loathe it. Yes, I have an account, but avoid it like the plague. Can't give a good reason, heck I met the hubby online. But something about Facebook rubs me the wrong way. Maybe late tonite I'll sneak on so I can see the pics.

Ahhh, the car. $1000 plus (a lot plus *sigh*), and we are running safely again. Destroyed something suspension-wise in the ever-so-potholed streets of Brooklyn a couple weeks ago (struts? Shocks? I dunno) and blew a tire, so had to replace all those bits n bobs.

On a non torch note, I discovered ancestry.com has some of the the 1940s census online. They don't have all the states yet, but NY is one, so I looked up my family. Too cool. My dad (who passed away in 2010 at the age of 76) was just 6, his sisters (my aunts) weren't even born yet, and my grandma was just 25! And dad, my grandparents and all my uncles (grandmas siblings, who were 20 plus, but not were married yet) all lived with their parents (my great
grandparents who i never met) in the same home. Wow. Just fascinating.

Alli

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House

Just a quick Hi, it's raining today and Fred has a golf tournament up island hope their weather is a bit better up there. I guess today will be a torch day even though I have 2 buckets of fleece soaking and waiting to be washed and dyed.
I do have some ideas for the raised floral beads for the IFF meeting on Saturday now if only I can take that out of my brain and put it on a bead.

Alli, I hate those car repair bills ours got so bad that we ended up buying a newer car which I love but Fred misses the luxury 0f the old one.

Very quite here, I must tiptoe out
