Good morning. Still trying to wake up. Maybe I should just go back to sleep. Was painting faces until after one. On paper, not like clown paint.

<giggle> what a visual. Stayed up way to late myself putting pictures together from class. Finally made three consecutive cuttlefish castings that poured all the way last night. Now to figure out some real designs.

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House
Tami, There's a part of me that loves creating in the wee hours. They can be the most creative for some reason. What material are you using to cast? Sounds like fun.
Sueze, If you are out there somewhere: First, I hope your knee is feeling better and I forgot to add a third to getting a second opinion. Second, I just blogged about one of the artists I'm taking classes from and learning to paint faces that keep me up until all hours.

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House
Happy belated birthday Alli. And nice beads!
In regards to my Dr. we have way more people than the Drs can handle on the Island so if you have one you stick to her because there are no Drs taking new pacients. As it is there is a 2 week wait to get an appointment unless it is a real emergency. Adding new meds to the ones I am already on would require getting the Drs down at the cancer clinic involved and I really don't want to mess with the cancer meds they have me on so I guess it is really my fault not my Drs that I am not on serious meds for my knee. I am alternating Ibuprofen and enteric coated asprin but am very aware of the problems they can cause. Today is a good knee day but with all the rain it feels like it would also be a good nap day.

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House
Sueze, Glad it's a good knee day. It's raining at the moment, but this is only supposed to last through tomorrow.
Was about to turn on my kiln when I remembered I have laundry to do. Don't want washer, dryer, kiln, oxy-con, and fan on all at the same time. Know some are on different breakers, but I also use my washer outlet for my fan and oxy-con. Oh well. I'm supposed to go visit my sister tomorrow for a few days or I'd wait on the laundry. If it rains, I'm staying put. Just don't want to drive 3 1/2 hours in the rain just to visit someone I saw two weeks ago and no special occasion. I was supposed to be in L.A. today, but canceled because of all those migraines. Of course, I've felt great the last five days. Another Oh well.
I'm babbling so will stop and let you carry on.

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House
Thanx for the birthday wishes everyone Twas a nice birthday - I actually got good weather! Hubby got me an Ipad 3 and I am shocked. I have an original Ipad and mostly love it; didn't expect to get an upgrade. Now I have to decide between AT&T and Verizon. The one he got is Verizon, my current one is AT&T. I may stick with AT&T but that would mean GIVING MY PRESENT BACK and waiting for a new one, and I am already emotionally attached to it LOL what a rough life eh?
I know what you mean about the wee hours Maggie. I've always been a night owl. When I was in college I never started my homework till 11 pm or so; it was when I was at my most alert and focused. Even now, when I torch, its usually late at night (although having the monkeybutt in bed and out of my way helps!).
Been playing around with some reduction frit, trying to figure out how to get it on the stringer without getting it all over the rest of the bead. I suspect fine motor control would help...

Re: Newbie Glass Help and Coffee House
Good morning. Staying put this weekend after all. Think the heaviest of the storm was last night, but we've decided to go down for Mother's Day and Katie's dad's b-day (same day this year) instead. Think my b-day present to my bro in law is bringing his daughter home.
That means I may torch today. I'm so noncommittal. It's just when I start playing with paint, I can't stop.
