Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Karen, What is Monkey Joe's and free ice cream? Seriously??? I'm so there!
Tami, My journaling so did not work out the way I hoped while I was traveling. I prepared this journal, worked in it while in England and I actually had some "me" time and then my time belonged to my tour! Still need to get back to it, but you know how that goes. I should show you some of my pages. One book I have, think I love, haven't used yet, is Personal Geographies by Jill Berry. It's not necessarily for trips, but I think it's something you would enjoy. Love that you check out the blogs I follow, amazing women. Hmmm, I don't think I follow any men and I'm okay with that.
Diane, I worked in my yard for a little over an hour yesterday. Funny because it was sunny for that short while and soon after I headed inside, hail. It's sunny so far today. Forgot what blue skies looked like.
Sold some yarn I need to get sent to its new home. Have some exchanges I need to get messy for. Miss how we used to have exchanges here, was always good for motivation and inspiration. Good old days.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Maggie, you should get a commission from Amazon. Yes, I think that one will be great. Maps fascinate me I actually studied a bit of surveying and GIS a while back. I allways have plans of journaling or drawing while traveling. I actually sat down and tried to draw at the Edison and Ford Estates in Ft. Myers for a bit but it felt so rushed... I actually managed to jot down where I was, impressions and events while on the trip using my moleskine planner for that - which is more than I usually do.
Karen, Monkey Joes? Don't know what that is, but sounds fun and free ice cream well, we'd be all over it. Hope you have a great time. Yep, pict's when I'm done. Ya'll keep me motivated, that's part of what I love about this place.

Tami, Somehow I knew you were a map person. Funny what we can "know" about each other without ever having met. Yet! I think I should own stock in Amazon.
Mallory, You are so cute! I can already hear the giggles from everyone you meet.

I so needed that smile!! Thank you Mallory - that is one awesome eye patch!!
Been really sick here, bronchitus and now sinus infection. Hopefully when the meds kick in I'll be better.
Have not torched in forevery! I miss it so bad. Hard when I have this adorable puppy to train and look after.
Karen, we love monkey joes! If you sign up for their emails you get coupons =). Kids take great naps after a visit there.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Very nice Mallory. I'm sure it will bring a smile to everyone who sees it.
Trish hope your feeling better soon.
Karen I saw your posting over in the daily thread. Hope your son does well at his new job. To answer your question I am an engineer but the company I work for is very small. That means that I end up designing, machining, welding, plumbing, or wiring what ever is needed. It makes it very interesting and keeps it fun.
Ok have a good night everyone.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Mallory your eye patch is wonderful You will get a smile from everyone for sure! I know I am!
Oh trish hope your feeling better soon.. I had a case of sinus something a few weeks ago. it just makes you down and out.. That puppy is adorable! I bet he keeps you on your toes..
Wow carlos you are a a man with many hats. very talented.
Maggie found a corner of the yard that needed cleaning.. threw it all on the "hot" ashes.. and up in flames it went. I'm not liking what I see coming up.. yes my beautiful flowers.. but in-between crab grass and weeds.. galore! frustrating! I have a major job ahead of me... gonna try to do a little each day.
maggie congrats on your sales! that is a very good sign.
have a good night everyone..

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Diane, Wish we could have yard waste fires, a bit away from the city they can, but we even had days this winter where we couldn't have fires in the fireplace because of pollution levels. That's life in a valley.
Stayed up reading until 4 AM. Why do I do that? Plus, I have the Hunger Games trilogy to start reading. I want to read at least book one before seeing the movie, but I have a feeling once I read one...

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
You will definitely read the others... I just heard about them at Christmas. I had read all three by end of the first week of January. Crazy good books.
