Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
I keep meaning to congratulate our WC gals for being in the Flow Mag. I don't get it anymore so I'll have to see if someone on the island has gotten this issue.
Well I'm off to bed now so nite nite

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
I guess I get the award for up the latest. 2:16 EST and I'm still going strong! Ugh, I need to find a way to get to sleep earlier. I'm going to lie down now but know I'll be up for at least another hour just laying there counting sheep. Well, good night and good morning.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Good Morning. Whoa I need to get a hold of the Flow. Congrats to everyone! and Hi.
Great Pictures Karen! Way to go on getting them uploaded.
Mallory, the clay beads look awesome. Excellent Flowered Hearts and just in time for Valentines day... I am getting inspired...
Not much going on here. More than last week tho (thank goodness). I resorted to the shot of whiskey last night to sleep (got that idea from Maggie), but I'm blaming the bizarro world dreams on the Chicken Pizza. Nothing like getting home to find out the meat lovers you ordered was replaced by some alfredo chicken thing. Which is fine I'm sure for some, but a far cry from sausage pepperoni ham and tomato sauce that the band had ordered.
Just wanted to say hey to everyone. I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll try not to be such a stranger or quite as strange as this post. Love you guys.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Thanks Belinda, Good to have you pop in! Hope to see something in the Flow from you next year.
Thanks Sueze, Hope you can find an issue to look through. It's always my favorite.
Kris, Better you than me! I've been back to my regular seven to eight hours after over a month of sleeping poorly. Hope it stays and hope you can find it.
Tami, Yes, I'll take the blame. Mine is usually a shot of Southern Comfort though. Neither pizza sounds good to me and I can't eat it anyway, but what a bummer to get the wrong one and so far off. Wonder who ordered the chicken and ended up with meat lovers.
Hi Mallory, Glad the snow was welcomed and pretty. You've been having a mild winter so far, haven't you?
My sis and the kids just arrived at my other sis's house so I need to find out what they are up to. I've already been to farmer's market, doing laundry and art.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Hi,
Kol from Queensland, Australia. newbie, only started in August/September 2011.
I am retired and am exploring basic beading to learn some control of glass before trying some fusing and other ideas in my head.
i eventually want to gain enough skill to make my own designs, so for the moment I'll hasten slowly.
I've been lurking around reading a lot of the info postings, especially on hothead and kiln building. There is just so much information out there - and I am lucky to have access to such a source as this.
I am looking for any one in Australia who has made their own bead annealer (toolbox or mailbox type), so that I might pick your brains a bit. Feel free to reply direct or through the forums if you might be able to help.
In the mean time thank you to all the wonderful contributors for the years of accumulated knowledge here.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Hi there, welcome aboard. There are some great tutorials here, there is one on a mail box annealer specifically. It's rather excellent. I'm not positive of the location though.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Evening everyone. Been a busy day so this is the first chance I have had to get on to here. Welcome Kol. Here is a link to a site that has plans for a mailbox annealer. http://www.joppaglass.com/constructi...%20papers.html
Mind you annealers are simple to build. It really comes down to what is available to you, and how fancy you would like the controls to be. If you have questions just ask.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Many thanks to all - I'm really blown away at the speedy responses here.
As I said I have been trawling through the links, and I revisited those shown above today.
My main problem is that we use 240 volts in Australia and I am not sure if or how I need to modify the electrics to suit, hence the search for someone who may have made one to suit our system.
I must say that I've found a few NEW links thanks to the above.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Kol MAK, you might want to start a thread in the tech area asking for advice on your specific needs. You would possibly get better advice there. Good luck! http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=93
