Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House

Hi maggie.. I'm all set with all the books.. I bought the "newer" of the SB program.. with the smaller book with the list of good /bad carbs.
One of my coworkers is bringing in her Sb cook books for me to borrow. Thank you for thinking of me, but I'll be all set.

I think your right..about the toxins.. I'm much better after I eat. I'll tell you I'm noticing how better I feel.. Less tired ,seems like the simple carbs.. make you more pokie.. I would eat so much of it.. I'd be in a food coma.. lol.. so this seems to be working in a positive way.. I don't get as hungry either inbetween meals.. Now I just have to get my excercising on course.

well I'll check in tomorrow.. gonna head of to read.. have a good night everyone!

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House

Pixie is doing much better now. She had a huge lump (about 2.75 in x 2.5 in) on her hip when she woke up. It's almost gone, and she's able to sleep on her injured side.

Maggie, she only has to have her teeth cleaned once a year. Thank heavens! We will have to discuss ways to keep her from being injured again next year. They are really good vets, but someone, somewhere dropped the ball on this one.

I've found one thing out about my IPad. I can listen to Pandora radio without interruption, and I mean none at all. And now that you can listen to more than 40 hours per month for free, this is great! I love the speakers on my IPad. They are great! I guess it's because of the lack of flash!

Anyway, good night. Enough of the random thoughts. See you tomorrow!

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House

Karen, That's one of the great things about this group, even as it changes voices, we truly care about each other.

Diane, I hear you on needing to up the exercise. My next goal! I'm going to have my brother help me move my eliptical into the kitchen tomorrow. My table is now a craft table and I can at least look at the pool and the yard as I sweat, better than a control panel in the garage.

Mallory, Glad Pixie is doing better. Hope those stitches don't become a problem, I'm thinking of Diane's ratty.

Anyone watch Work of Art on Bravo? I hadn't heard of it, but guess this is the second season. Just starting, hope it's good. Like Project Runway, but with artists. Looks cool so far and they are just introducing people.

Jumped in the pool today, brrrrrrrrr!, after getting hot from doing yard work. I'm getting my pool heater next week so I'll be able to do more than the eight laps I forced myself to do today. Just kind of cleaned house and the yard, those unending jobs.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House

Mornin' peeps ;-D
The first thing I do each morning, is to check in here with my pals and see what is going on with each of you.
Karen - How incredibly sad for all that knew and loved your friends. ;-(
Sueze - It's so great to see you up and going and torching. Your ghost sheep is adorable.
Maggie - OUch on the finger. You just can't get away from pain on your hands.
Mallory - I have had to wait to comment on Pixie's injury. I've been so stinkin' mad that anyone would let our Pixie be injured...grrr. Glad to hear she is doing better.
We had our ISLAGA meeting on Saturday, and I did a demo for a marble...quite fun. Did a couple articles this week...watch for me in the funny papers ;-D Went to ABR yesterday to get the class glass for Nancy Tobey class coming up. It's really been a fun week.
Hi and hugs to all ;-D

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House

Good morning! Must be a busy Thursday for everyone.

Samma, You are having way to much fun. I remember all the count downs to finish with the corporate life. Glad you are in bliss.

No idea when my bro may show up so I guess I should shower and be on the ready.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House

Karen, just ((((hugs)))) thinking of you.

Maggie, London, Lucerne, Paris !!! What fun! thinking you will need mukluks for Lucerne though.

Sueze, yes, I dig the ghost sheep too!

Mallory, Hope Pixie is healing up. Stop it with the ipad stories. Just kidding, I love to hear what everyone does with them even though I have total tablet envy... but not for long... (I hope)

Diane, Keep up the good work. I'm sure you'll be feeling great soon. Last weekend I was trying to figure out who in my family actually worked out. I couldn't think of anyone, then they started confessing that they did actually exercise. That took away my last excuse... I guess I'd better ramp it up too.

Samma, Yep, that sounds like a great week! How fun!

Better run picking up family from the airport. And a bit more clutter to hide - though I'm running out of spaces to hide stuff. Don't want them coming in and calling "hoarders" on me.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House

Hi all...DH suprised me with a drive up to Door County...a very artsy, wine country area....good lunch...beautiful colors....but rain...didn't mind it because wine tasting is an indoor sport!!!!

Tami...thanks for the good thoughts...really appreciate it.

Maggie...the best excercise I get from my excericise equipment is MOVING the equipment from one area to another...but you have much more self control than I do...you will actually use yours.

Samma...I think we may be passing through your area in the next few monthes...will keep you posted...but definitly want to stop in...I will have to "accidentaly" coordinate it with one of your classes

Mallory...good to hear Pixie is doing ok. Cool about the Pandora music.

Diane...DH has been watching his blood sugar levels...they were really wacky the last few weeks...he is doing a modified SB....Lost 18 lbs in 4 weeks. He is determined to really work at this...and his blood sugar has been amazing. You can do it sista!

Well..tomorrow is the church service for my friends...memorials will be going to Organ and Tissue donatations...that was their main cause that they were involved in....Dave donated a number of his organs...Kristin's were too damaged...but her tissue was donated....she coud be helping 60 people by doing that. I had never known that info before. Private family interment at the Veteran's cemetary on monday ...Dave was a retired Marine captain.

Thanks for listening all...love ya See you tomorrow.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House

Tami, I'm wondering how much I can stuff in a suitcase and keep it at 50 pounds or less. How much do mukluks weigh? I have a pair of Keen boots that are going to have to work plus one more pair of undecided shoes. I've been hiding stuff with my bro and sis in law coming. They postponed until tomorrow so I can do more hiding in the morning.

Karen, Your hubbie knew just what you needed. It's amazing how much tissues can do. I so respect organ donors. I haven't been brave enough to do it, stupid I know because I know you won't feel anything, but it still freaks me out a bit. As you get older and your parts start breaking down, is there an age where they just can't use you anymore?

Mallory, Pixie must be feeling better if she is being naughty! A good thing.

I so love this town. Tonight this one street downtown, one of my favorites to shop, had a Harvest Night. Most served champagne or sangria, ate some cheese and chocolate and passed on a lot of gluten type food, but wow do they know how to party. Of course, after a few glasses of bubbly you start buying more! I bought some gifts and a bracelet for myself. Oh, they had sales too. I bought a purse and really super light backpack for my trip at 20% off. Think that's all I bought, though who knows after three glasses of booze! A good night. Sidewalk sale this weekend extending to more streets so I'll be back downtown shopping.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House

Quick hello. Having a yard sale today so I'm up way early!!! Also under a lot of stress as I'm getting readly for my sister to come stay with me. It is a very long story with her and I'm very emotional about it all. So that's why I've not been around much - sorry!!!

I'll try harder.

I hope you all have a beautiful day!
