Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Cute beads! I'm just hear to say good night! Hugs to all. I made a great lucet cord tonight out of leather. I might use that cord to string Betty's bead on. We'll see. I'll post photos tomorrow. Good night!

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Mallory, Leather sounds like a great choice for a cord.
Did some knitting, swimming, visiting with family in person and over the web. Decent day. No torching today or tomorrow. Antique shopping with my sister tomorrow morning before we reach the high 90s hopefully.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Good morning Mallory, I think I may have taken your energy this morning. I've made my own chai latte, watered the yard, showered, and I'm now waiting on my sister to go antiquing.
Sueze, I've made a note to self right under your comment that it's you. How strange! Speaking of bags, I hope the one I sent you arrives soon!
Good morning to all. Hope you are having a safe Labor Day and your not laboring too hard.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
All right, here's the bead I made to wear to Betty's wake and memorial service.

Here's the cord I made with leather to go with the bead. I made it with 2mm leather.
Here's the cord with the bead.
I have found that I like lucet cords in multiples. Here are the cords I made to wear with the bead.
Now here are the cords with the bead.
Which cord(s) do you think look better with the bead? I like both sets! Please help me decide!

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Mallory, What a beautiful bead! I LOVE the leather cord, but I think the lighter colors go better with the bead. They also bring more life and celebration to the look and I have a feeling that is what you are going for: joy and a life well lived.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Thanks, Maggie, now I have one vote for the leather (on FB) and one for the cord. I just don't know.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Mallory I agree with Diane and Maggie I like the lighter cords with the bead.
I wiped today also, no energy and no desire to do anything.
Forgot to say that's a great bead Mallory and I'm sorry to hear of your dear friends passing. It sound like she had a great life and a great friend.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Okay, more votes for the lighter colored threads. I like them, too. I'm sure Betty would like them, too! Thanks for your kind words. It's hard to believe that I met her when she was 79 years old! Amazing!

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Diane, Hot and humid always zaps my energy also. My air conditioning spoils me on these 90+ days. I sent you a google+ invite, if you didn't get it, pm me your email address in case I have an old one.
Hi Sueze, Hope you find some energy, but remember that rest is important when we need it and it comes in a lot of shapes and sizes.
Mallory, Do you have a Trader Joe's in your area? If so, go and ask someone there for their gluten free list or you can get one online. It's amazing that they have gf black licorice (yum!), ginger snaps (also yum) and I bought some edaname (sp?) crackers and rice crispy treats that are also gf. Junk food, I know, I also bought salmon and fruit and eggs and wine... I was just so happy to see those gf items and regular prices. Their list is three pages long, back and front. I haven't been in a couple months, but I am going to study the list and make a grocery list for next time I go.
Had a good day today. Dragged Katie to our Salvation Army that has cuter clothes than most department stores. Katie hates to shop, but needs new clothes. Capris were $1 on special and she found two pairs and she even found a shirt. Bought myself a shirt also. We went swimming after and then out to dinner and now I am doing my NCIS marathon.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Morning! Maggie we don't have a Trader Joe's here, however, the stores here have an excellent selection of GF foods. I'm thrilled with that! Well, I'm off to Mass soon. Betty's wake is tomorrow. I guess I'll use the light cords. Thanks for all your help! I'll post a photo when it's finished. Bbl
