Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Mallory, glad to hear your feeling better.
Diane, I do hope work has improved for you.
Gladys, glad to hear your hip is mending well.
Sueze, my thoughts have been with you all day. It is not easy to lose a love one especially a sibling. I too loss my brother a few years back the heart felt pain at first is so hard but my love for my brother’s little family and wonderful memories he left helped me through it by sharing the little stories and adventures that I shared with him. My prayers are with you and your family and should you feel the need or just would like to share your’s and your brother little stories I would love to get to know him through them and I know all your friends here on WC would also.
Hi, Deronda, Maggie, Tami, Sonja, Trish, Ingrid, Louise and Karen…Hope I did not miss anyone. Till tomorrow goodnight.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Hi All,
Don't know what possessed me to do it but I decided to randomly pick through the over 3000 pages of postings in this thread ... wow, you guys have been at this for a LONG time! Enjoyed the stories and the beads and found this in one of Diane's posts (still wondering where you found this picture of me), thought it might bring at least a little smile back to some faces ...
Night, night.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Ingrid that brought a smile and a giggle to me! Thanks.. lol
paula marie.. work will be work.. and I think it will get better eventually.. but right now it just down right stinks.. morale is so low.. no raises this year.. took away money from diferentials. Im just happy to have a job at this point..
Oh the curtains aren't shredded yet.. they are pretty heavy duty..
all the metal work talk is such a different language for me. I don't have the energy to learn to work with it but I sure do enjoy seeing it when people work thier magic.. that is such a skill!I'm still looking at paulas flower cut out and wonder wow. how she do that..
mallory thats great... hope you feel even better... tomorrow..
sonja good for you , you shouldn't give your work away! have you sold on ebay at all? i've been having pretty good luck over there lately.
Survived the college tours.. what a long day.. but DD was very excited about the first one we went to this morning.. smaller more compact campus.. great gym , work out area.. nice clubs.. people so attentive to us as prospective student. The other well, let just say not so special.. i'm sure its a good school.. but just doesn't have that fuzzy warm feel to it.. just buildings.. spread out over the city.. so would have to travel by bus to go to another part of campus.. she seems excited and looking forward to it.. Thank goodness.. you always want to see your kids happy..
night night.. Diane

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Morning! I thought I heard thunder this AM, but since we still have a lot of snow on the ground, I paid no attention to the noise until I went out to get the paper. Guess what! The lightning was so close, I took off running into the house. I'm still not feeling well, but when it's fight or flight, I was in an advanced state of flight! I'm trying to convince myself to go down and torch, but I still don't feel like it. I have to finish getting ready for that show. I'm thinking of taking a nap right now. It's only 7:40! I doubt that I can go back to sleep! Oh, well, such is life. Enough whining, unless you can send me some cheese to go with that whine. BBL

Tami, we'll just be odd together I don't get peanut butter and jelly either, love them both but not together.
I must have missed the varnishing explanation, what and why??

I like peanut butter, I like jelly, but can not fathom whose "brilliant" idea it was to mix them. OK maybe I'm odd.
One more day of varnishing on the bench tops then perhaps I can play with fire again.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Good morning from rainy Vancouver Island. I should be on my way to spinning but I'm still sitting here in my PJs and trying to decide what to have for breakfast.
Diane it sounds like you and DD had a good day and that she has decided where she wants to go.
Mallory I sure hope you feel better for the show and that you do really well.
hope you all have a great day

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
I must say today at the torch was about as bad as the day I stuck my finger in the flame... THIS TIME!!!
I good size chunk of hot glass popped off and landed right down the front of my shirt! yup straight down between the "girls" and landed right in my bra.. fused into the material and all the time burning my skin.. I figured it would just be a quick burn, but that glass stays hot for quite a while.. I found out the hard way.. lol.. Ok so now I have a transparent jewel in my bra.. for a souvenier.. lol.. and a burn.. when it finially cooled Off i went back to what I was doing.. sigh.. But was glad to turn the torch off after that! Just one of those days.. I guess... thanks for listening..
ok got to take dd to doctors visit.. she's having pains on her side..

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Diane! Ouch! Geez, how do you protect against that? Maybe you have to keep 'em moving like the dancing banana!
I had a really crappy torch day too. Must be something in the air. I made THE ugliest beads EVER. I really, really, needed a good torch day.
Then I tried baking. Made some cookies for my class to celebrate the birthday of one of my students. They looked like the 'pucks' I pulled out of the kitty litter box this morning. I use Swheat -Scoop, a wheat based kitty litter so even the colour was the same! My students gobbled them up even though I told them about the kitty litter!
Are you ready for your show Mallory? Hope you're feeling better.
Sueze, I hope those pj's are pink and fuzzy. Don't rush out of them. Take time to take care of yourself. I'm glad that you're still posting.
Tami and Sueze, you won't eat pb & j, for real? How about this combo, sounds weird I know but it actually tastes great: peanut butter and cucumber on Triscuit crackers!
And that's all she wrote.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Hi everyone!
Sueze I continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Ingrid too funny!
Mallory I do hope you got your nap in and are feeling better.
Gladys hope your hip heals quickly and well.
Diane ouch! I have dropped a piece of hot glass on my ankle (I now cover my lap with an old leather vest) but haven't had one down my shirt yet. Ouch, ouch, ouch! I hope it heals quickly!
Okay here is a new set from me.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Sonja, Great set! The center one almost looks like a floral stringer how cool.
Ingrid, Actually the peanut butter trisket cucumber combo sounds great. The kitty litter description probably made the cookies all that more enticing to kids. Hang in there hoping the next torch session is better.
Diane, I went to a compact campus small school it was divine. Hope DD is feeling better. Oh and ouch. Hope the girls are feeling better too. I'm allways in a t-shirt or turtleneck so I haven't had the fire-in-the-hole-experience yet.
Sueze, Take care of yourself, spinning can wait. Just don't forget to breathe. I'm varnishing the new bench tops in the shop. DH opted for plywood and I'm not real good at digging out slivers so I'm hoping 3 coats of varnish will keep that to a minimum.
Mallory, hope you are feeling better and good luck with the show!
Gonna have to sign off and say goodnight. Good Night everyone hope tomorrow is a great great FRIDAY!

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
I'm back and ready for bed. I'm as ready as I'm going to be for the show. I'm packed and ready to go. I'm knocking on wood. This will tell me a bit if the economy is improving. We'll see. I feel better, but I'm still stuffed up. It's late and I need to be in bed. So good night or g'day!

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
I was last and now I'm first. The last shall come first? At least I feel a wee bit better today. Not much, but I am a tiny bit better. I haven't taken the OTC's yet. That will really help. Anyway, I'm off. bbl

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
LMAO - Ingrid I haven't seen her in quite a while! Kids will eat anything cookie like, lol. You are so nice to make them cookies!
Diane, I'm happy your dd likes the smaller nicer school. I can't even think that far ahead yet, lol. - OUCH!! I've had glass land there before too and it's not fun!!! SOunds like you had a big chunk. yikes!
Mallory, hope you are even better today and can focus on getting ready for the show. Gald you are feeling better and you are all ready for the show.
Speaking of shows, I'm trying to deside if I should do a jurried show for an $80 entrance fee. I keep telling myself I should but I don't really have the cash to spare.
Tami, what is really good is peanutbutter and pickle together on a sandwich, lol. or peanutbutter and marshmallow fluff... yummm. lol. You are lucky that your dh is handy and building stuff like that. My dh is a slug when it comes to that stuff.
Sonja, that is a gorgeous set. I love the rich reds.
ok, I think I'm caught up. - whew... lol.
I'm hoping to have a good torching day today. I've been so crazy with work that I haven't been able to focus.
Have a fantastic day!!!

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
WordPad open ... ok, let's see if Trish's method works ...
'Morning All!
I couldn' stand the torture of waiting until morning to see my fugly beads so I hauled them out of the kiln last night ... not so bad after all!
Sonja, wow! I love that set! What a glorious red colour. The spacers in the back look like cherries, yummy! Hmm, I wonder what cherries taste like on peanut butter.
Tami ... 'fire in the hole' too funny. Speaking of 'the hole', in geology there is a term for the way crystals break along weak planes of bonding, blah, blah, blah. The term is 'cleavage'; ya, imagine how that goes over in a classroom full of 18 year olds. I actually introduce the term with a PowerPoint slide loaded with images of butt cracks and cleavage!
I'm really liking this WordPad thing Trish, but peanut butter and pickles?!?! I feel compelled to try it only because you were right about WordPad!
Well, I'm going to see if torch and I can get along a little better. Maybe showing a little cleavage will help!
Have a good one!
