Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Wow! Wow! Wow!!!!
Amazing glass! I love the palladium and the electroformed and the mosaic! Wow wow wow!!!
You guys never cease to amaze me.
I made some exciting new beads yesterday and this morning, too, in a new design that I HOPE hasn't been done before so I can call it my own.
I can't wait to show you guys! I haven't been this excited about my work in a long, long time. I've always been so production oriented, but now that very few things are selling I can just PLAY!!! Woot!
Have fun on your trip, Rich! I'm so jealous, and Samma? My God, girl! Lucio??? Now I'm REALLY jealous!!! Awesome!!!
Hugs,
Debby

Here is my 'hot mosaic'. I took a class last weekend with Christine Stewart from Australia. It was an incredible class-I loved every minute of it! Hot Mosaics is a combination of fused elements incorporated into a traditional mosaic. It was a blast!
It still needs to be cleaned and framed, but I couldn't wait to show you!

Thanks so much on the shell. Ya'all really made my day. You're so sweet. This one already has the liver of sulphur treatment on it. I have one in the bath now that I will show you the electroforming before it's treated. It's WAY bright. I don't think I will run this one over night. More of a smooth look. Here's the back of the shell:
Rich - have a great trip. Anxious to see your pics.
Joy - Bummer on the cracked piece. I really like the paladium, but I tend to burn things...lol. Those little faces are sooooo cute!
SUSANNNNNNNNNNNNN! That mosaic piece is just fabulous. WOW... I LOVE it!
OH, finally got the question...I'll be sure to get a top 10 list up for ya'all tonight. I just love the Reichenbach colors. I have most and will pick some favs for ya.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Samma, the electro forming is amazing. Thank you so much for the R'bach color list. I'm sensing a change in COE coming as I'd like to fuse a bit too. Yay on the class.
Deronda, Oh yeah, I'm an amazonlike 5'-2". I don't have a fear of heights I'm just naturally coordinated in the klutzy sort of way. I don't think I can let the squirrely boys on the ladder though. We wouldn't paint, we'd torch anyway...
Louise, LOL a sock bunkee! He's just seeing stars, or had a few too many Margarita's. Too fun! I did get a new sketch book - I actually bought 3 (trying to stimulate the economy don't want our only craft shop closing down). It was at Hobby Lobby. We don't have Michaels down here but it's all we had in Alaska over the years, I have just taken calling any craft store Michael's (apparently ).
Joy, The pen bead is looking great - dang I hate it when bits fall off just when you think it's done... Really like your face beads!
Susan, fabulous mosaic! That's a lot of work! Great colors!
Christie! That's just how I am. I get an idea, then it's like you got to buy stuff, and then the credit card bill comes and I have all sorts of 'splainin' to do. DH's gotten used to the oxygen charges but wondering about all those other glass vendors... Somehow I forgot to mention this was an expensive medium.... Whoops... Hoping to start sketchbook/scrap book to keep ideas together... So when I get ready to order I can actually pick up what I need...
Hi Maxine, got distracted off on that web site looking at the pictures. Cool!
Hi to all I've missed! Hope everyone is having a g'day/evening.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
This is not quite eye candy, though my week seemed to have been overtaken with eyes and wings....
The evolution of the B.A.D idea (Banana Airplane Dolphin) still a work in progress.

Round two on making faces... Need to figure out mouths and a lot of other stuff but working on it...

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Joy, I love your topsy turvy beads!!! They are so fun. And depending on your mood you can switch em. I think they should be on one of the bead holder pendants. I LOVE the paladium bead revisted. It is fabulous. I love the grey over the pladium. Beautiful!!!
Louise, the monkey is adorable, but yes, he does look a bit deceased. you would have to change that pronto.
Diane, I am happy you seem to have found your muse again. You are so right about it being a good day when you get to melt glass. Hugs!!
Susan!!! Wowza!!! That is a fabulous piece. I love the concept of a hot mosaic! How fun to combine things like that.
Samma, The second side is just as beautiful!! Wow, I never like electroformed stuff before, your things are gorgeous!!! Your class is going to be so amazing. He is a fabulous artist!!!
Christie, I feel like that when I see different techniques and glass.
Maxine, That mambo art is amazing!!! How fun, and wacky, and wonderful!!
Debby, I can't wait to see your fabulous new design!! I love discovery!! It can excite you the way it did the first time you made a bead.
Hi Kathy, G'Night Mallory.
Tami, I really love your B.A.D. Idea. What a funny combo it is. Louise is going to love it. I want to know how to make decent lips. I have the animal mouths sort of figured out, but people smiles are soo beyong me at this point. I need to learn to make lips for my skulls.
My dd's SO is definitely a nut job. A very sweet one, but a nut job all the same. He is anxious to go to the psychiatrist, so I know he knows how out there he is. He thinks the Free Masons had him conceived to teach mankind the meaning of human suffering. He also thinks he is descended from Thomas Jefferson and Barack Obama is a direct descendant of Abraham Lincoln. Oh well, he also thinks the TV is talking to him. TMI, but honest. Hoping my dd makes it until he goes to the shrink.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Oh my, oh my! Samma's bead is one that needs to be held and turned and examined...drool. What a fabulous opportunity~now for the waiting...
Thanks for the color choices.
Joy, the pen bead is so intriguing. I agree with Maggie...it's right below the surface.
Then there is the hot mosiac. Amazing, as well.
Love the BAD idea...so needed a smile tonight and that did it. Torching would be so much more fun than painting.
Rita, be nice. Hopefully medication will help him.

Not the color I thought for the flowers, but I think it's okay.

Re: Newbie Help and Coffee House
Debby - Can't wait to see your new beads and so glad to hear you excited about your beads again. They are so beautiful, I'd hate to see you lose your joy.
Tami - You sure are having fun. Such a pleasure to see!
Deronda - OHMYGOSH...I love the colors of those flowers and it's great paired up with the periwinkle blue.
Here's a pic of bead 2. This is how it comes out of the bath. I did patina it and rub it almost back to this state. I liked the brighter coppar for this one.

Yes, it's just one bead with one "face" on each side. Just turn it up side down to get a new "feeling".
thanks! I'm going to try the palladium one more time at least! I soo want it on a satin silver pen! It looks great! I think I finally got the wedding bead made today! Fingers crossed all the stringer stays on and the glass isn't burned/curdled
