Good morning Wc friends
I haven’t been around much. I am in the process of building a web site for Mississippi Home Again. This is a none profit grass roots movement started by 2 women who have been going to Mississippi and making a difference in hurricane relief. It is amazing to see what 2 driven women can do compared to a organization like FIMA.
This is their mission statement:
"The Mississippi Home Again Relief Fund is a non-profit organization established to help Mississippi Gulf Coast residents with limited financial resources to resettle in their homes after Katrina, a critical step on the long road back to normal life, independence and dignity. We assist these individuals and families by replacing their most fundamental, most costly household essentials destroyed in the hurricane: typically hot water heaters, stoves, refrigerators and beds. We also aim to replenish their spirits with personal attention, empathy, compassion and humor.
Through our direct, one-on-one assistance, we support and accelerate the overall economic, social and emotional recovery of the region and its residents. We augment this support by purchasing goods locally."
This is a link to their web site, I am still working on this ~ it is a total labor of love.

The women send me stories of their experience and pictures and I post them on the web site like a cyber journal.
I hope you all have a warm and wonderful day,
Rae
