Re: Pirate complete

Excellant work! I like the design-especially the wind blowing the beard. Can you give details-type of wood, finish, etc.?

Re: Pirate complete

Wow! You do such wonderful work. What I really like is how you are able to get a feeling of movement such as with the beard. He looks lifelike and not stiff like most wood carving that I see.

I'd love to see lots more pics especially of the detail areas such as the face/beard and hands.

Thanks for sharing your talent with us all!

Re: Pirate complete

Hi,

This is very good. What did you do the sculpture in and how didi you get the great finish? Was it a commission or where do you intend displaying it.

Re: Pirate complete

Yar! Blow me down that's a fine bit o'sculpture! Gee, my 22 year old daughter loves pirates! I'll have to turn her on to this pic. Did you know there is a real return of interest in pirate stuff among the youth? Pirate fashion, pirate talk... she went to a Pirate Day in Boston awhile back and reported that the street was filled with folks dressed as pirates yarring and arring. It wasn't a legal parade though, so they had to scatter about when the police came. She said their slogan was (cleaned up for polite society) "Pirates mess things up, and pirates don't get caught!" Maybe you should Google for 'pirates' and check in with some of these groups, you can start a bidding war.

Awesome piece, kiddo!!
