Beautiful and luminous! Its hard to believe you convincingly inserted all that space and luminosity into such a small canvas!

Re: Crossing the Lake

I love this painting ... especially the play of light and shadow from the poplar trees, and the nicely-indicated (but not overworked) cabin and boat.

Wow Sho22 ....you do have many faces .....and all talented. The main thing I like here is the way you used color to create balance. I enjoy the journey down the road and find myself looking up into the sky at the deep patch of blue....what was your source of reference? Its done extremely well....TerryC

Re: Crossing the Lake

Sho, I am so envious I love this painting. Such a tranquil scene. Your trees, road/path with the sunlight lead us right up to the cabin, and then to the boat and across to the other side. I'm don't know much about composition, but to me, this is excellent.
I like the peach colour lighting up the darker tones of the road.

SHO..... this is so lovely. Your sky is beautiful and it's such a calm, peaceful, realistic setting, my eyes travel all over trying not to miss anything and do not want to leave the canvas. Beautifully done. Donna

Re: Crossing the Lake

very classic....rich, well done! The long slow draw down the path and to the left with the heavy right visua weight, makes for an intriguing and lovely asymmetrical balance! Wonderful...

If you look at this thread: http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=303239 you'll see where I got my inspiration...the copy of the Monet was done for my parents and I miss it so much I did one for myself...It kind of represents where I'd like to one day retire to...I hope it's different enough from the Monet to be called "original"?
