Hails from Canada
FND irus

I had a great time doing the Friday Night Drawing exercise and chose an irus in watercolor.
I wasn't too pleased with the result; it was overworked, but I noticed the scan actually improved the painting by reducing the contrast. So I worked it over some more, having nothing to lose.
Well, it's anything but spontaneous now, but I do like it better.
Is there anything else I can do at this point? Pen and ink? Darken the background more? Add white? Give up?

I like what you have now...it does not look overworked to me. Maybe not as spontaneous..but still a lovely rendition of the iris.

That can be the problem sometimes - when is a painting finished? Right now I think it looks like an ideal iris.

I think it is a fine likeness of one of the most difficult florals in the flowering kingdom.

it's a nice looking iris, I like the way the light hits the iris...
