Challenge to take on an abandoned painting

In a thread I entitled "Manipulating a disappointing painting" I suggested going back to an old piece traditional or digital that you abandoned, and rework it. Barry suggested starting a thread where we all start with the same clunker and see where everyone goes with it.
So I'm offering an old watercolor I started. Have a go at it, paint, manipulate, crop, do what you will and lets see where we all go with it. Nothing is too outlandish!

Just to get the ball rolling Elaine. I flipped and merged your painting, then painted freehand on top using the sargent brush. (I tried the watercolors but couldn't do what I wanted.) I will have another go.

Barry and Lady Alba, thanks for stepping up to the plate. Both of you have done a fine job! All three very painterly.
Here's my attempt.
I took it into my ancient version of painter, tried to stick to pastels, but just couldn't stay away from the watercolors. I guess once a watercolorist, always a watercolorist.
