Washionary - Dictionary of Wash Acronymns and Skype Directory

Every now-and-again one of us comes up with an expression or words the others haven't met before.........

they are too good to forget........ so, to all those with CRS I dedicate this thread where you can add your own special words. Have fun!

With a worldwide membership, we often come up with local words which need some explanation. Add to that words invented by members and special acronyms, and you get a language which can often befuddle new members.

What follows is the current Washionary compiled by mmcaloon, it will be updated from time to time.

Agave - that which one does not wish to back into

Allocades – honors

Alphabet soup – To be used when you can't remember the letters to a Washonym (courtesy of JoAnn) A new definition also applies probably better: hugs and white light and prayers and big smacky kisses and all those nice things we wish each other at the end of posts and be back later etc etc..... at least thats what I use it for........its a great way of saying them all in one go. Arvo – afternoon

AWAYTC - all who are yet to come

Aye carumba – Bart Simpson’s Wowser

Bacon Buttie - bacon sandwich

Banana -'Doing your banana' at someone is the same as 'going off your rocker' at them, another term for 'going ape'.

Bellows – Jana-ese for one's lungs

Bobs Your Uncle – Canadian roots meaning "there wasn't that easy" to a complicated situation.

Boo - as in "take a boo" = look I reckon...

Bril – Brilliant

BSAKS - Big Smacky Air Kiss

Chowing Down - eating with gusto

Chuffed - as in I'm chuffed - feeling good about something

Chuntering - someone going on , and on, and on about something

Comp – competition, or composition if your in a writing bent.

Cool Beans – anything that’s great or wonderful, an exclamation

Coinkidink – coincidence

CRAFT - Can't Remember A Flipping Thing

CRS – Can’t Remember S#*t , or Stuff for polite company

Cyber-Elastic - support when one is down or feeling low

Darn Sarf – 'Down South' in what UK northerners assume to be a 'Sarf London' accent

Dilly - Something or someone regarded as remarkable or unusual.

Drookits – drenched people

Droopy Drawers – tired, just dragging

Duffus, or Doofus – Someone who does something stupid, like me on a bad day

Easelwielders - Plein aire painters

Faboo – Fabulous

Fag – cigarette

Gasbagger - one who talks a lot also 'Gasbag' i.e. one who goes in for 'gasbagging'

Gollygegoobers - Kiwi exclamation by Elaine (Amaze 1101)

Gob-smacked - without words, lost for words

Gone for a Burton - a British slang term which translates roughly as "out to lunch," "missing" or, applied to a machine such as your friend's computer, "not functioning." Used it in the sense of collapsed/destroyed

Gooby – goodbye

Gorks - as in the Gorks – stomach trouble

Hewy – Howdy

Hit the Pit – Go to bed

Hoodies - type of out garment with a hood

HTH - Huge Texas Hugs from Yahooserious

huggles - a version of hugs

I’m up everybodies up – I am up out of bed everyone should be up too

Inspirated – Jana-ese for inspired

It’s Going in the Book – Its going in the book

Kaching - Banxy's KACHING!!!!! (cash register sound). Every time someone says something about him, like "Banxy is just so darn cute", or "what a sweet darling Banxy is" or Banxy is such a sweet pea" (which used to happen quite often...don't know what happened) he would say "KACHING, if I had a nickel everytime someone said that!"

Kagool – a hooded, lightweight, weatherproof outdoor garment with pockets

Keep your pecker up – keep a still upper lip a STIFF upper lip although I would say more keep cheerful

Knocked up - call on someone, wake someone up in the morning

Lallygaging (lollygaging) - Doing everything except what your supposed to be doing.

Luggles – love and huggles – huggles being a version of hugs

Midden - pile of trash, dreadful mess in the house due to lack of houselkeeping

Mustache - must dash

Nelsonmobile – Vehicle that Spritey tootles around in...can take on different forms, invented by good pal Malty..who also writ a song about it..that she really likes.

Nice by Twice – extremely nice

Painterly – one of many words used to describe a painting.

Partners, mates – friends

Pennis, Half – when you spew coffee on something

Pennis, Full – when it comes out you nose too.

Puta – computer

Recipoem – recipe in the form of a poem....... as invented by round2it

ROFL - Rolling on Floor laughing (sometimes adding MAO (my a** off)

Rugged up - warm coat or covering on

Sanger – sandwich

Sashay - women's walk with attitude

Schmoofula - sea squid

Shazam – for future banxy use

Skype - Technology that allows one person to talk to another around the world and let you see the other person all free.

Skyped - As in to be skyped. When someone calls you via Skype

Skypeless - Not getting any calls via skype

Skyper - Person making calls via skype

Skypee - Person getting calls via skype

Skypette - Female skyper

Skyping - Making calls via Skype

Skypoid - A pain in the skype or bad call

Skype Mike - How washers and skypers are referring to a microphone, or mic.

Snabbing - the art or act of copying multiple photos for painting references, also see snagging.

Snagging - the art or act of copying a photo for painting references, also see snagging.

Sparrowfahrt - early in the morning

SWMBO – She Who Must Be Obeyed

TMTRI – Too many to respond to individually

Toots - young female, or toilet on the wash (go figure)

Tuck in – to eat with enthusiasm

Up my wick - irritates me also 'gets on my wick' 'gets up my nose'

Wallah – a JJism for Voila…or there it is, or behold

WANderful - Jana-ese for wonderful

Maybe abbreviations for send, find.

and LOL I thought meant Lots Of Love, good thing I just typed the words!!! Oh, look what I found!! So, LO should work!!!
