Pastel History Book?

Does anyone know a good *art history* book focusing on pastels and pastel artists-- not so much on techniques but art history and criticism? I didn't come up with anything on Amazon though there are tons on oils, watercolors, etc in historical context.

Thanks!

Re: Pastel History Book?

Brad- I have not seen one- but have you looked at the monthly thread in the pastel talk section- Masters of Pastels? It features a famous pastel artist each month, and has a great deal of info. about each artist.... he should write the book you are looking for, because I don't think anyone else has.... there are only mentions in 'history of modern art' and such.... here is this month's:

hope you enjoy your tofu christmas 'turkey' (I was a vegetarian for 7 years, have tons of recipes- mainly Greek ones like spanakopita)!
