Hello Jean...who is a brave person, then!! Oh boy...do I remember the feeling with the first post! Yes, I do. Akin to first day at a new school

There you go....not as painful as you thought Where do you usually 'hang out', as I notice you've been around WC for a while.

Sure looks c-c-c-c-cold where you are right now. Do you live close to this river? Any beavers? Interesting name...Forks of the Credit river.

Great scenery. Especially like #3.

In 1 and 2, the tall dead ferns (?) are a bit distracting (to me) but sometimes its just the way it is. We really need someone with us, to sweep all obstacles asunder for us...climb down the slippy rocks so that we can get everything just so.

Go for it....you've posted here once! Live dangerously and post some more. From personal experience I can assure you, there are a great bunch of people here who readily share their knowledge.

Welcome to our corner of WC! Jean...not so scary after all eh?
Looks like a cold and wild part of the country, love the white water against the snow. The last one's my favourite here, good composition and the exposure looks about right. Next time hang over that railing though, it's a bit distracting. Snow is notoriously difficult to photograph and you've done a good job. So come on don't be shy, lets see some more of what you see.

Welcome to the photographic forum Jean, and what a lovely series of photo's you have given us on your first visit. I think it has been said in one of the earlier replys that snow is notoriously difficult to capture and I think you have done a great job. Number three is my favourite it has such a depth though I have to agree about the dead ferns, they are a little distracting.I will be looking to see more of your work in the near future.

Jean its nice to step outside our comfort zone, please come over here with your pics more often. The others have commented on the images and I agree with what they sez! so I will not add to it. I know you play over in Digital but the Manips Forum is a great place to play too.
I look forward to seeing more of your work over here.

I have to disagree with the rest - my personal favorite is #1. I love snow covered anything (rocks, leaves, trees, etc). Another hint - get lower, change the angle, shoot upwards, to get unique photos of one area. Great exposure with the snow and come back again with more!!

Re: I'm a newbie here and with my camera

Welcome to the wonderful world of photography. Nice photos you can really feel the power of the water.

May I make a few suggestions. If digital photography is new to you check out this website and go to the understanding series.
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/

Next time you are out shooting break (if you can) the dried grasses down that are in front of your camera, they distract from your subject. Also try cropping out things like the raining in the last photo. You also have some sun flare in the second photo, easy to fix if you move your position just a little.

Can i say first im new too. About your photos i wouldnt change anything, the pictures are gorgeous and the way they are is the originality of the shots.I like to think what you are showing in the picture is nature in its true self.
When you start to manipulate this and that it no longer becomes original.
so as i say beautiful shots. .
