WDE 9 DEC 05 Shrimp Boats at Sunset
Hi folks, finally found time to look in again this weekend. Where does the time go? I thought once I retired I'd have lots of it but the further into retirement I get the less time that seems to be available for me.
This is somewhat of a departure from the norm for me. Trying out some new art pens that I've just been bought so no detailed drawing, just a watercolour wash and straight in with the pen trying to keep it fairly loose.
Ink pen over W&N wash on 140lb NOT 8 x 6 approx 45 mins.
C&C always welcome.
I've off to try and catch up on what everyone else has been doing now whilst I have the chance. |

What a nice rendering of the shrimp boats... do frame it. Know what you mean about retirement.... At times I wonder how I ever had time to work.

What a great idea! I haven't thought to ever just be so loose and go back in after the paint drys to detail it like that! WOW.......a real beauty! FRAME IT...just like everyone else said.

Beautiful, Joy. The pen work is a great success - very confident and absolutely delightful. I agree, it's a framer.
What sort of pens? I have been doing stippling with some fine fiber tips by Faber-Castell - now I've ordered some old fashioned mapping nibs - but I think I will be inking over pencil sketches!
