Santa Abner

Well - here is trial holiday card #1. I had no idea how hard it would be to get him to sit with a hat on his head (the cape was invented) anyway - I think this may be the most depressing look on a doggies face at Christmas EVER so I should probably try a different shot.....or come up with a really snappy something to write on the inside of the card.....hmmm - there may be a way to redeem it yet....

Re: Santa Abner

I love it, he looks like he thinks you have gone mad! How long did he sit for you ?
You know I think he is a very fitting Xmas card, I am sure animals DO think we have gone mad at xmas with all the fussing and decorations and presents.
I think with a witty xmas comment it's a perfect card.

How about "This Xmas business had better be good!" or "Whoever said tis better to give than receive is a nitwit!"

LMAO, the more I look at it the more I smile! USE it!! Actually, a highlight to each eye might brighten him up a lot, but don't mess with the expression! Adorable!

OMG Cori! I have the biggest smile on my face and am laughing so hard at Abner! You did a great job and thanks for the laugh - I really needed it today! I think it makes a wonderful Christmas card and you could come up with so many different captions for him! LOL

Re: Santa Abner

Well - that saves me fussing about another painting then I will use it as my Christmas card and come up with the perfect caption for it today! I'll place my order tonight Thanks guys!

He didn't sit for long - in fact - Cam had to hold the hat on him and we had to put his muzzle on to keep him from biting him and the hat!

Re: Santa Abner

lol - gosh I hope not - and Abner got many treats when I finally got a good (kinda good) photo!!!

However - his sit/stay/be nice training needs to be stepped up a notch so next year he will sit nice for me....

Re: Santa Abner

Cori- two of our dogs just 'graduated' from doggie school- clicker training- ahem... they already knew how to sit- despite the certificate, they are still about the same- unless you have a piece of hot dog in one hand and a clicker in the other..... and if they get out they are not about to 'come' but will chase the sheep and goats.... well, at least they got a new toy at the end of doggie school... but the point is don't bet on Abner ever enjoying wearing a hat LOL... I love the look on his face though....

Re: Santa Abner

Bells and Antlers? You do that, and Abner will put the Humane Society on his Speed dial.... seriously, we used to have a phone with a huge 911 button on it- and a cat- Toby- who would SIT on it. It would dial without the reciever even being picked up. Lucky, at that time, the local sheriff was a friend of ours, because we would suddenly hear the dispatcher who knew our name and address asking if we needed help..... all because the cat preferred canned food no doubt... we got rid of that phone, not the cat LOL...

Re: Santa Abner

lol - I was kidding I actually have a blinking bowtie to put on his collar though - he should be fine with that! Just so long as it isn't a hat or a muzzle.
