I have never used rice paper...is it thin? What kind of texture does it have? Is it expensive and where can you get it?

Ohju...this rice paper I am using is very thin. It tears easily also. grrrrr! My husband bought this rice paper in San Francisco. I realize that I can use it in the traditional way (ink wash or watercolor)but thought I would try it with pastels. There is a definite texture that is not obvious until you lay down the pastel. A built in crosshatch is the best I can describe it. You can also buy this at your local art supply store (Hobby Lobby is one).

ok, I think thin paper won't do for me, might look like a machine gun got a hold of it when I'm through. hee
And framing? don't know if I want to tackle the fuss. thanks for the info.
