WDE Oct 28 Chickens
Golden hen
Autumn coat
Fashion note
Sorry, Valri, I know it's not Haiku but best I can do. Loved your photo of the hens. Thank you. Wanted to do the poppy too but social life got in the way. Will keep the reference if you don't mind.
This is Lyra Rembrandt Aquarell pencils on Rigacci (Firenze) golden brown paper. 6" x 7"
Now I'm off to admire everyone else's.

Absolutely beautiful Robyn - and that paper looks as if it holds quite a lot of colour - haven't seen it here, but will look!
Love those chickens though - and their rhyming intro!

Re: WDE Oct 28 Chickens
Thank you Lori & Dewi - it's the first time I've used the pencils - I was short of time and thought it would be quick. Silly me!
Thank you Maureen - this paper really loves the pencils - it's just a single layer - I don't know what would happen if I tried to build on it. I am really pleased with this one myself even though I couldn't work out what to do with the background - so decided just to leave the nice paper.
thank you for looking

Re: WDE Oct 28 Chickens
Thank you Connie - most appreciated from my favourite chicken painter! And Queen Bee - thanks for looking.
Would like to revise my Haiku:
Golden hen
Autumnal coat
Fashion note
I think that's better - even though the rhyme is a no no.

Black, white and golden
Beautiful pencil strokes now
Background and hens done
I really like it alot. That paper is gorgeous as are your chickens. I like the b&w of the feathers. Nicely done!
Does it show that the haikuing is getting really hard to do.......

Re: WDE Oct 28 Chickens
Love the rythm in the colouring of the feathers ! These are very realistic hens- I could easily be convinced you were drawing/painting them from life. Very nice progression in direction on these 'girls'. I really think you've done a beautiful work of art on that fine support !

Thank you Wendy, Angie, Chloe, Lauren - for your extremely kind words. I'm getting addicted to these WDEs - nicest part of the week!
Thank you Valri - my chickens would be nothing without your photo!
Suggest you go for the Guiness Book of Records for you Haikuing - this must be a record
thanks again everyone
