Fake swarovski crystals

I have had a hard earned education on swarovski beads. Most I have bought are fake. Some are very pretty but not genuine. One excellent way to tell the fakes is to look for dull spots especially around the drill holes. Genuine swarovski beads are perfectly polished, even the drill holes.

The safest way to assure buying genuine Swarovski crystals is to buy them from a reputable American dealer. Even buying on line is risky. I assume that none of the crystals I buy from China are Swarovski crystals. One China dealer actually offers his beads as imitation.. I think they use the term Swarovski like we use the term silver which could mean the metal or the color. I make it a point to not use the name Swarovski when I offer jewelry for sale unless I am very sure. I do make some pretty jewelry from the fakes.

If you ask sb else before you buy it, i think this kand of problem can be reduced

The same thing happens with buying "jet". It has come to mean a color rather than a material. Thanks for the reminder to be careful.
