little indian girl x post

hi all
just posted this in the oils forum and thought you guys would like a look.....not fiinished, still work to do on the right eye(as you look) the hair a little and her jacket......also have been wondering about her ears....i may have to put in a very small amount of her left ear(not seen at the mooment) to balance the image....
anyway, crit away....

I don't think lack of her left ear shows an imbalance at all - it seems proper to exclude it in this view. I think this painting is great on many levels, not the least the colors used. I am crazy about the hair color in particular. Lips are great, shading underneath - great painting.

not too many replies on this thread but posted the finished article anyway.....the light was failing when i took the photo so it looks cooler than the other....i`d say the finished painting was somewhere inbetween the two as far as colour warmth....

I like how it turned out and the cool tones you used. The jacket is nicely painted as well. I’m glad you went with no ear and I like the expression.
