Re: Our Baby

Looks good - it would be nice to see a larger image - you can go up to 500 pixels wide, and 600 pixels high (this is 283 x 212 ).

Looking back over other posts, I see you're multitalented! - very accomplished in woodcarving, drawing, and stained-glass - as well as taking up paint, now.

Keeping to a restricted palette is a good way to begin - you've handled a subject here which many beginning painters would find very challenging, establishing form well, and giving this perky little dog lots of character.

One general tip, and particularly useful for portraits - it's always worth having a look at the work in a mirror - errors of anatomical asymmetry become much clearer if you do so.

Re: Our Baby

Thank you very much for that Dave. How do I edit out this picture and put up a larger one? I appreciate you tidying up the double posts for me.I had never thought of using a mirror. What a great idea.

Re: Our Baby

Thank you for the encouragement, it is really appreciated. I never realised there was so much to learn about mixing colour. It facinating. I have now posted a larger picture which Dave has kindly offered to edit into this post. I have a lot to learn about computers too!!
