Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter w.i.p. life drawing

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: w.i.p. life drawing
Year Created: 2002
Medium: Oil
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: 600mm x 800mm
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
Most of this picture was quickly done in a life drawing session recently. I found that I was quite loath to change much in it however it was (and is) very lightly painted and prior my adding the dark red/blue had little contrast to strengthen the picture up. Unfortunately though there is a background to the figure I believe that it is too flat and intend to put in a couple of white/yellow curved lines to indicate material. This pose was actually done as I stood over the model giving it an unusual view point.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
The problem is how to I get something that is hanging on a wall too look as if it is lying down. the direction of the lines would play an important part. Any suggestions.

do inaccuracies of the figure jump out and say fix me! fix me! (as there are a couple that disturb me however I do not wish to disturb the balance too much).

the rule of thumb that I usually use is to work as much on the background as on the foreground. Here little has been done in either. Is the picture strong enough to stand on its own once a couple of lines have been put in.

Oh gosh I posted this and looked at it and thought that background will just have to be changed back I think that I will find a moderator and delete this and try again.

Hello mjk,

Do I understand it right that she is supposed to be lying down and look it?
If so I think you should drastically change the direction of the lower body and the legs.
But I do think this is a very nice pose suggesting she is sitting on a couch or something and heavily leaning towards one side.
I feel that if you continue the darks and orange band in front of her behind her back things might look better and maybe some answer suggest itself like for instance her leaning on the arm of an armchair.

Hope this helps some, Dick

right I am happy with this now. This one was little too easy to do however I guess we all have to slip an easy one in now and again.
