Re: Moretti rod color names + rod numbers + beads to see

ok you guys, see how the format goes? Bead makers can now easily go get the rod colors and rod numbers from their Moretti rods and hit the torch and play. Please use the format so everyone can do just that - like the idea? I hope so. After all the wonderful people helping me, this thread is the least I can do to assist and help everyone too. I hope you like it.

My #4 beads used 218 petroluem green , 064 black and 204 white

Around 16 months ago I was where you are today. When you PPP (practice, practice, practice) you'll get better and be even more proud of your beads - it's a natural thing. If you lived close, I'd be happy to shoot pix of your beads so we all could be even more proud of you.

Re: Moretti rod color names + rod numbers + beads to see

Oh honey, the only time I know the name and number is when I am buying or stocking shelves in a warehouse. At home I have a "collection" of rods, and whatever looks good I use. I can tell you what color usually, but the number too? Wouldn't we need to develop shorthand for all of the manufacturers- M, V, L, C, U, B, NS, GA, S, etc.? I could get tedious... and take all the fun and mystery away!

I am actually trying not to remember a lot of useless, senseless numbers. Unfortunately, some numbers are stuck, and I wish they would just go away.

Re: Moretti rod color names + rod numbers + beads to see

This is your method that works for you and that is good. Since the rods are ordered by number, I felt it was best to stay consistant, thus, I kept the list for you so you'd have no work to do. When a person orders glass, they don't say, "Send me red." I think they order by the rod number in order to get the exact red they like. I posted the rod number/color list so no one would have to remember anything - it is a chart one uses. By being exact with the rod number, others can duplicate a bead color combination you did but, of course, will not repeat the exact design. This is the main reason for this thread. Thanks for understanding its' purpose.

Let's go with it and have fun!!!!!

Rich, this is an awesome idea! I too have made some less than attractive color choices...wish I had known what not to do! I have a really neat combination but it uses frit...is that OK?

Here is another that doesn't:

First bead: pastel ivory 264 base, 060 Transparent Cobalt Blue, and 034 Transparent Light Aquamarine encased in 004 Transparent Clear

Second bead: same colors but without the transparent encasing...the dots are the two shades of transparent blue, layered.
