Do you enter work in your county fair?

I just took my entries to the fair for judging Friday but won't see the results untill the end of this week. We have a very small fair but I enter a few raku pottery piece and jewelry pieces every year so I have ribbons hanging in my shop to impress people. The exposure is pretty good and ours only costs fifty cents per entry so its pretty cheap advertising as well. Does anyone else bother to enter? Pat

Our county fair is MUCH more expensive .... a buck fifty per entry.

I enter as often as I can. Great exposure, and the local bead society sponsors a half-dozen $75 prizes and gives out nice ribbons, in both amateur and professional categories. And it's cool to troll the mutant chickens, lop earried bunnies, then go look at cool beads and jewelry!

Unless you've got a pig or a big ole pumpkin, there's nothing to enter.
