The Sunday Daily for June 19th

Hi

It's just after midday in this part of the world, and I though I'd catch up on some
of the backlog of paperwork, etc, before heading out to do the shopping. Wendy is
hard at work doing up one of the downstairs rooms, so it is the least I can do.

Ann, I do hope you are getting some painting done in the middle of the dancing, and
I do look forward to seeing some completed wheelbarrows.

Martha, if you wish for the time to fly by to suit some things, then you will find you
do not have enough time when you really need it. Who was it who said " Be careful what
you wish for ?" . I hope you get the job and that it is everything you want of it.

Maria, a couple of weeks ago you asked for a picture of Wendy working with power tools.
Will a circular saw do ? This is from about 30 minutes ago.

I hope everyone on holidays has wonderful weather, gets some great photos and returns safely.

A belated congratulations to Lisa for being acredited to drive on the wrong side of the road.

((((Hugs)))) all round - even if you think you don't need one.

Now to get on with my bowls piccy before I head off to work this evening.

Have a great day everyone.

Re: The Sunday Daily for June 19th

Oh boy are you gonna be in for it!!!
I hope she knew you were taking that photo. Ah well that's what comes of being multi-talented!!
G'day all- Today is a quiet day- the lull before the storm. It's a big week this week at work as we are celebrating 50yrs. And I have been roped in to do the photos of all the celebrations. Won't get paid as it is a conflict of interest but the networking is worth it. They will only pay me for materials used.
'tis cold here today (for us). Otherwise not much on.
Have a good day...

Lesley, She knew it would happen and she chose to give in when it suited her,
rather than be presented with a limited choice of possibly less flattering options.

Now I'm off to do a bit of shopping.

Re: The Sunday Daily for June 19th

Lookin' cute as, Wendy! What a woman, eh, tar ball....I bet she can weild a neat chain saw too. Glad you had permission to take that shot, lad, or I can imagine "jelly meat for dinner" for a while.

Rain was forecast for our day, but apart from a cold start to the day, it was more like SPRING. Wonderful! I did too much in the garden and felt almost ill in the afternoon. Undid some of the good that I had done, by resting for couple of weeks, but hey....there were violas, primulas and polyanths to plant...what can a woman DO!! Poor things have been sitting waiting during past week of rain. AND did a little painting. Isn't it great to be able to DO pleasant things outside, that we enjoy. So many cannot.

O.K....off to post photos of beautiful sky, and then eat dinner. 6.45 p.m.

Good morning Jim Good morning Lesley. it's just short of a eight AM this side of the pond and sun shining brightly promising another warm day Sorry yes we have return from our camping trip, two Nights was enough for these old bones.

Jim it looks as if Wendy takes after Joy, would rather do d i y than shopping.
Great picture though.

Lesley good luck on the 50 year celebrations, or should I say your photo take of them.

I had no idea what we will endure today as Joy is still in bed may be just take it easy.

(((( Hugs to everyone as needs them)))))

Re: The Sunday Daily for June 19th

Asy he did have permission to post it, he had a verbal model release lol. I vetted the pic first (well I could not been seen as unflatteringly as the last one he posted now could I?). Yes we got the good saw horses and they are quite brilliant, thank you for the tip!

Had to stop tonight, I got 3/4 of thye plasterboard up and then ran out of the glue, so the rest will have to be done tomorrow. I hate having to stop mid-job!

Lesley be nice to my man, he knows not to post pics without permission. Good luck with the pic taking.

Maria I did not notice till after the shot was taken that I had girlie pink work pants on again lol (I dont like pink really, ask Lesley!) Sorry the Jazz was a bit of a washout.

Martha it was lovely catching up with you in the BugPub. Its so nice to be able to type in real time.

Ann I am not sure that a woman wielding hefty electricals can be called cute, especially when she throws as many tanties as I do when I am working lol. I hate making mistakes and I seem to have made a few this time round. (My only excuse is that it is a while since I have done anything like this ..... ). Anyway it is progressing nicely. PLanting a garden sounds pleasurable I am hopeless though, I forget to look after them and eventually the plants die and the weeds take over. I need a self caring garden, is there any such thing? The painting sounds nice too.

Rob (and Joy) that was one quick camping trip, were you in tents? A day relaxing sounds like just what the doctor ordered, make the most of it. I am a bit of a d i y person, and yes I hate shopping, so if I can get Jim to do it then I am more than happy. The only shops I really like, are camera shops, computer shops, hardwares, sewing shops, art shops and stationery shops... can get lost in them for hours, but hate clothes, shoes and groceries lol!

Anyway Sunday evening here and we have had a day of steady drizzle which is good as it soaks into the ground instead of flooding off.

I hope everyone has got their bowls into the comp. I cant wait to see what the next comp is! I find that I keep trying to push myself to do a better pic no matter what others think of it.

Have a wonderful what's left of your weekend.

Re: The Sunday Daily for June 19th

Well, I haven't been "bowled over" yet, but I'm not sure when the deadline is so perhaps there's still time. I have a family gathering today as my nephew is being baptized, and the sun is shining!

I'm trying not to wish my life away, truly, but keep hoping that they will decide I am "the one" and stop looking. So many of us applying and we are all likely highly qualified. So many layoffs in the area.

I did a bit too much of the "other" sort of shopping yesterday, but really prefer all the shops on your list, Wendy! We can hang out anytime!

Have a great day, all!

Re: The Sunday Daily for June 19th

Wow! Look at Wendy wielding that circular saw. She should be on TV the DIY channel.....nice outfit and matching shoes too..... I'm gobstruck.....where's that jaw dropping icon.

Looks like everyone has their day planned. I'm just starting mine and not sure what it will bring. Need to go to the Farmer's Market to get some fresh veggies. I'll be glad when our garden starts producing, but with the cooler than usual weather it may be a while. I did pick a couple of banana peppers for the grill last evening, a bit hotter than we wanted, but what the hey.....perked us up.

Time will pass quickly Martha, at least it seems to here. Lots of people loosing their jobs here also. So many closings of long time businesses....seems like the "New World Order" is in place and changing our way of life.

Two night camping would be more than Tom would want to do. Good for you for still being able to do it. Sleeping on the ground isn't something that I can do any longer. Used to do a lot of it when we were younger, even backpacked into the wilderness and stayed for a week at a time. Now we just drive up to the overlooks and take in the views. Too bad....miss that.

Sent in my entry for the Bowl comp. Did it kind of quickly so don't expect much. Haven't done that well on these comps as it is......but it's just fun participating.....

Have a great day everyone.

Re: The Sunday Daily for June 19th

I forget whether PST is earlier or later than I am, but I just got home from the family gathering and haven't thought of a bowl idea, so I guess I'll have to do the next comp. It was cold and cloudy at my sisters, but it's sunny and pretty here. Think I'll sit on my sunporch/studio and read the paper and do some drawing. Hope you are all having a good day!

Re: The Sunday Daily for June 19th

Congratulations on the new status, Carol,

Looks like you're doing a grand job, Wendy. That's the sort of *fun* job I like. Not enough of that and too much of the mundane chores around here recently.

Glad to see you taking charge of the shopping whilst Wendy is busy with the circular saw, Jim.

Look forward to seeing your photos of the 50yr celebrations, Lesley.

Glad you had a nice morning in the garden Ann and hope you are well rested again nw. Don't overdo it after you've only just gor yourself right.

Sorry you haven't managed to get into this weeks comp, Martha. Here's a link to the World Clock if it helps. It's set on fixed time 10.00pm GMT (ie. 22.00 hours), so you should be able to check your location against everyone elses.
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...0&sec=0&p1=136
Hope you enjoyed your paper and drawing. Try and keep yourself occupied the next couple of weeks - it will go by eventually and we're all rooting for you to get the answer you want.

Been a very lazy day here today. Brilliant sunshine so we've spent quite a bit of it in the garden.

Hope you've all had a good weekend. Catch you later.

Thanks, Joy. I haven't checked your link yet, but I got an idea and shot a quick picture and submitted it. I have no clue if I'm too late or not, but I PM'd it to Carol, so maybe I'm in. Off to my studio this time for real!
