Greetings!
Greetings, everyone.
I had no idea this forum was here--I usually hang out in the debates forum, or the acrylic forum every now and then.
I'll be checking in here on a regular basis, now that I know this forum exists...
Keith.

Checked out your website. You do good stuff. My favorite was "Night Must Fall". I liked the contrast of the metal finish to the skintones. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
BTW, kg7er, you get the award for the most appropriate style of response for this forum !

Digi:
thanks. 'Night Must Fall' was done from a photo I took of a model a few years ago. I shot about 3 1/2 rolls of film of this gal in an afternoon, at a friend's apartment. He had just moved in, so it was great, no furniture, white walls, etc.
My friend and my wife held reflector panels, my wife did her hair, and my friend and I supplied the props--swords, guns, knives...etc.
It was tremendous fun, and the model enjoyed herself, too. (She was paid for her time, and I gave her an 11x14-inch print of the finished painting.)
I'm currently looking for more models...
Keith.

There was a model posting over at d'Art a couple of days ago. Looking for work.
Thanks for the award, Digi.

Hello Kim, I'm doing quite well, thank you. While I'm not an illustrator, I do paint using materials and media that are traditionally considered 'illustration' tools and materials.
So, I'm hanging out here, though mostly I'm in the 'debates' forum.
Welcome--and yes, they do seem friendly!
Keith.

Glad to hear you are doing okay. You had many hassles and I was worried about you.I have been hanging out all over,so to speak!Putting my 2 cents worth in wherever I feel it is relevant.I do not believe in labels even though I used to do primarily painting. That's all just wanted to sat hi.Kim.

Kim:
thanks. Things are going well; a little rough, but generally OK. My wife's mom is still very ill, and both our jobs are very stressful at the moment.
I'm entering a lot of art shows, no idea how I'll pay for them, but I've got to get accepted first.
I guess if I am accepted to all of them, there are worse problems to have than that!
thanks again,
Keith.

Hello again.Keith I hope things improve for you and that the art shows go well.It is good to enter. You have to be in it to win it,as they say here in Australia.
Onto a more illustrative note addressed to anyone.I have written two little childrens'stories which I want to illustrate using mixed media and send off to a publisher.Do I send copies, photos originals or what? How does it work if you want to make the book interactive eg pop-up etc.Any advice welcome. Thanks Kim.

Hi Kim!
I'd show them transparencies of the work and you could make a CLEAN comprehensive (mock up) using color copies of good quality.
Always ask what they'd like to see.
Funny this comes up because I was just reading about Alice's adventures for my portfolio and for the book project...I figured if I signed up for it I'd better do it. This is going to be so much fun.....LUSCIOUSLY DELICIOUSLY JUICY COLORS!!!!!!!!!! I am way into it!
