I Painted today at the display gardens about half an hour south of Portland. I spent a lot of time taking pictures and looking at the fields. It was cloudy at first but they burned off before long and it was pretty warm. This is watercolor, 10 x 14 inches I was kind of planing on a figure and this woman walked by wearing black wearing a straw hat. I messed up her hat.

Oh Well. Comments and Critique are enthusiastically welcomed.

Carrie--this is beautiful!!! Is it only 1/2 hour from pdx?? We are planning to go on 5/19/05---want to join us then?
I love the colors you used and the black figure is inspired!

I drive like a bat out'a h---. Sorry. I got a map and it isn't that far off the old Highway. I'll drive slower next week if it isn't raining. Thanks for your comments Celeste. I hope the other watercolor people can come.There is a very small pond with two little waterfalls that Kitty will like. It will probably have the best light in the morning if the sun is out.

It's a small pond, like if you pushed three hot tubs together but in a natural setting with some algea and gold fish swimming around. I went through my pics last night. I did get one of the lady with her straw hat. I might not have messed up the hat if I had just painted her instead of taking a picture.

Carrie..I want to do a webpage for our portland group (pretty soon) ----I know you are a webmistress--do you think one or two paintings from each member plus some locations we've been to will suffice visually? I really hope you'll let us have one or two of your images for the site---willya?? I promise it will be tasteful and I will run it past everyone before launching.

(I'll be using my antique camera for the photos...lol)

I have some pictures from Moreland last October too. Are you going to get a domain name or attatch it to an existing site? The later would be an easier way to start out. Let me know what you are thinking.

It was pretty muddy in areas last Thursday, Remind people to wear sturdy type shoes.

thanks carrie--and yes we are going to be the portland oregon plein air association (I think--on the other hand we might be a society). We are getting a domain name to match. At first we thought we might be Oregon plein air but actually most everyone is in pdx and we paint mostly around pdx so it was decided "portland" is right.
