S&T Thursday, April 28
morning all!
here's a necklace I've been trying to perfect, without much luck! getting 3 strands to lie one beneath the other isn't too easy!
just a variety of glass beads, and spacers in citrus colors...
have a great day!

Carrie- Great job for such a tough project. Sometimes getting those things just right is really tough!
Here is another watch. I hope this one doesn't come out as small as the one yesterday.

Carrie - yup, that's difficult, and even more so when the strands come out of a cone. Seems you managed just fine, tho!
Marie - another lovely watch!
Cosmo - cool bangles!
Here's my first etched project - wheeee....

I bet...I haven't tried multi-strand, but then - I'm stringing challenged (or crimping challenged anyway...)
Here's what I've been up to this week: (grrr, posting pics....hmmmm)
both done at the Expo in PA this past weekend...haven't had a moment to touch my tools since!

Re: S&T Thursday, April 28
Really beautiful stuff today!
Getting multi-strands to line up can be tricky, sometimes it seems like if you could take off half of a bead, you'd get the right length...
I like the watchband - simple but elegant.
The brangles are so much fun! All of them! Did you use a Connie Fox tutorial?
The woven bangle looks good, pic is a bit fuzzy, but nice job on the weaving.
I love the etched piece - texture on silver is such a nice effect. What did you use to etch it?
Great work, everyone!

Re: S&T Thursday, April 28
way cool ring Andee - whee is right!
Beautiful work Janice - welcome
Love all those bracelets Cosmo - would like to pile them up on my wrist.
Good Job Carrie - not my fav. colors but looks nice and springy.
oops missed the watch - I like the blues - will go with everything. If I wore a watch, I would like one like that. Or maybe one of Jen's...
Nothing from me. I cleaned my house yesterday, if you know me, you know what that means... creative block

Leah - ta! I have to admit I didn't pay much attention when our silversmithing teacher told us what acid we use... All I knew is that I didn't want to get anywhere near it...

Very nice goodies to day! Andee, was it nitric acid? Dangerous stuff, but the texture possiblities are endless!!!

Barrie - could be, but I'm really not sure... Or maybe hydrochloric acid, or some sort of mixture? I'm clueless actually... Will have to pay more attention next time...

Re: S&T Thursday, April 28
For etching silver, try ferric nitrate. It's a salt, so not quite as bad as an acid. Still needs to be respected when using, though.
