Hair Sticks - How To??

Hi - can anyone help me out? I'm not having any success getting my beads to stay attached to the hair sticks I purchased from Fire Mntn. The instructions only say to use a headpin to attach. I've tried that - as well as good ole reliable super glue - still no success. Is there a trick? Thanks, in advance for your help.

I'd try 2-part epoxy. Superglue doesn't work because it's too liquid & the wood is raw inside where you are sticking the headpin--the glue is soaking into the wood, therefore not grabbing the pin anymore. E-6000 didn't hold long enough when I used it on those hairsticks either--I think the wood did something to it over time--my next try is going to be 2-part epoxy too!

A friend of mine here in town uses a big jump ring and then just strings the beads using a crimp bead on the end to hold the beads in place. They move really well with the motion of my head.
