Palm Sunday

Because of all the exiles returned for the weekend, Sue and I lost our traditional pew to somebodyís extended family. We had to sit up front. The old guys get to sit in back on ordinary Sundays, just in front of the widows and elderly spinsters. At any rate it gave me a new view of the choir. Here it is belting out The Holy City like there was no tomorrow. Think ďjeee-RU-sahlem, jee-RU-sahlem.Ē

A little more work on this thing. It becomes more and more cartoony with every brush stroke. Any resemblance to European political figures, living, dead, defunked or reprehensible, is purely accidental.

Re: Palm Sunday

How on earth... ? You were sketching right under the preacher's nose? You had a camera with you? This is great. Tell me you did the whole thing from imagination; you've been looking at this place and these people for so many years you have the whole thing memorized!

(This reminds me so much of the days I spent in Episcopal churches, here and there and everywbere, before disability led me to the easier Quaker services. Used to sing in choirs, too. Can almost see the choir director mouthing the words... This is so funny! )

Lovely palette, with the touches of complementary yellows & purples perfect for the season.

Re: Palm Sunday

Some more paint in the air on this one. Not as much progress as Iíd like but Iíve spent the better part of the weekend waging red and bloody war on groundhogs. For a Homeric Epic the siege of Troy and the anger of Achilles is a mere pimple on my continuing blood feud with the groundhogs.

Iíve gotten rid of Mrs Thatcher and General DeGaulle but for some reason Sandra Dee has popped up. Also, the color is off on the bigger view. The detail is closer to what I see.
