"Silent Sun"
I love painting daises, so I've decided to do a little collection/series of daisy minatures. I hope to pick a few favourite colour combinations from these to take into larger works eventually.
My Son Harry (7) titled this one for me and he, together with my Niece Fern (9) have already produced a nice long list of titles for a few more in the collection.

Anita:
I like the center sun and the background color sets it off really well! Great title. You have two budding writers working with you!!!
This would make a nice series like Deb's Cuppa series!!!!

Re: "Silent Sun"
Bertoni, thankyou! Yes, my little "authors" are very helpful.
I agree, I'd love to create a series of larger pieces from some of these minis, minis are such a good way of trying out compositions and palettes I thought I'd start small and then go large.
Thanx Val, red seems to be a big hit at the moment for some reason.
TY minibrush, I did a larger painting of some white lillies with a red background. It got wall space in our newly opened Town Hall Cafe and apparently has stirred alot of interest....Maybe I'm onto something? LOL!

Re: "Silent Sun"
I really think you've done a wonderful job with this lone flower.
I love the beautiful colors that mingle in the center.
The reflective colors you've placed in the petals, and the way they leave the canvas.... all very well thought out and accomplished.

Re: "Silent Sun"
Nice contrast and composition...especially with the varied length of the petals.

Thanx Mark!
TY Cloud. Do you think this composition would carry over to a larger piece with as much impact?

Re: "Silent Sun"
I think this would be a magnificent and very dramatic composition in a large format. Actually, 30" x 42" would be within the exact proportions to your original but I think a 30" x 40" would work well. A 25" x 35" and a 50" x 70" are also within the exact proportions.

Re: "Silent Sun"
Nitsa: I really love what you have accomplished here. I think that this image would work very well in a large formate. Actually, I think all of your flowers could work in large formate. The only draw back to large formate is the selling price. Don't go too large or you'll never get back the amount that it actually took you to paint the work. The only time you'll get a decent price for a large work is if you are already established and have a seriously good reputation as an aritist with a history of shows, placements, exhibitions, articles etc. That will come if you persist.

Thankyou!
I wouldn't usually work in dimensions as large as Cloud has stated, mainly because I work from my kitchen diner right now and just don't have the room. 2ft is about my limit right now until the studio is built.
I have been fortunate enough to sell quite regularly since I started painting 2 years ago and have works in a cafe and touring exhibition.
I have just entered my first BIG exhibition today, so hope to start getting some history built now and get my name about a bit.
Fingers crossed I get in! Here is one of my entries.
I paint fairly quickly, I actually painted my most recent piece in approx 3 hours...just some finishing touches to make ...a whole new style for me and heaps of fun!
I tend to spend more time looking than painting.
Really appreciate your advice and comments....Thanx for taking time to post them!

Whhhooooooooo Hooooooooooooo!!! Nitsa!!!! Your really good girl!!! I love what your doing with those flowers. I must show you my Amayrillis sometime. Would you like to see it? I've done two in the last year. I really love what your doing with these images...you definately have the talent to go far in your art. I'm impressed!! Oh, let us know if you get into the show...nothing like it. I too am just starting out and beginning to build a porfolio of events to add onto my CV.
