Post storing paintings?

Im really out of space in my studio for any more paintings. What is the best way to store paintings? In the smallest space?

Question

Yeah, me too. The only space I have left is a basement, and it's way too damp.
(and there are little tiny furry critters down there!!)
(and spiders)
(and things with way too many legs)
(yikes!)

Im really concerned mainly about dust. Ive wondered about building a cabinet sort of thing where I could lean my paintings inside. Ive seen things like this in other places. Any other ideas?

Gisela,
get a cat and a dehumidifier!

Wanderfast,
Are these paintings on canvas, paper?? What are their sizes? You could use a closet and put in some shelves at varying heights. If you don't want to clean out the closet and get rid of those things you never use...How about using those plastic rubbermaid outdoor sheds and put it in your dry basement? Now I do not mean those monstrous things. They make all different sizes. Some as small as a large cooler.
Hope this helps!
