Spanish alleyway

I've painted this from a couple of pictures and feel it's a bit wishy-washy. I'm relatively knew at painting and I'd be grateful for any help/advice and please feel free to critique.

Hi Vicky....I think the composition is interesting and technically pleasing....I would suggest stronger contrast...decide what the focal point is..( I see it as the figure in the doorway?) and develop from there...perhaps by either highlighting the figure or darkening the area around....I think this has great potential..

Also, me thinks the Alizarin next to the orange are having a fight
Try to convert your picture into grayscale on your pc and you'll get a much better idea as to bringing in contrasts ...

Hi Vicky - this is such a nice scene - you just might want to punch up the darks and add some more--- I did this in PS to show what I mean

I think you need more contrast and this leads me out to the street and a focal point. :-) nice color and touch

Thank you all so much for your comments, they have really helped me. And I love the way you could change the colours on the painting. Does PS stand for Photo Shop? If so, it looks like a good investment. Thanks again. Vicky
