Nice colors! It would look great matted! It's a really neat frame, but do you think it dominates over the painting? A mat might give the painting a chance to be the star! What do you think?

Ditto the compliments! The details just draw me in.

I think a mat would be great, too; even a plain frame without a mat might still take away from the beauty of the painting - and I think it's worth the effort. I have mats cut at Hobby Lobby for pennies, and sometimes I use decorative paper from the scrapbook department as a mat.
