WC Artists who focus on the Tropics?

Please excuse my lack of knowledge...
I am looking for watercolor artists that focus on subjects associated with Tropical Landscapes... or the tropics in general.... Islands, palms, beaches etc... Old world, new world... realism, abstract... doesn't matter. I need some good examples, as I am thinking this may someday become my focus too... Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks so much in advance....
Ray

Hi Ray......I don't "focus" on them but am currently doing one for a Christmas present. Check out:

http://www.art.com/asp/sp-asp/_/SZ--...90/posters.htm

or enter in maldive morning or maldive and you'll get poster sites that'll give you some inspiration.....not copyright free but it can't hurt.............good luck .....Karen

p.s . you can enter in copyright free photos and you might find some thing as well

Ray...not many tropical sights in Northern AZ, right? You could go down to Rocky Point

Just kidding, I would post this question in the cafe, and other Forums here and then do a search at alta vista or goggle. I only have a few tropical pictures I can use from trips to Asia and South America, sorry.

G'luck

Wasn't Gauguin (sp?) noted for this? Also IIRC Winslow Homer did a number of works from the slightly exotic "Bermuda". I'll have a gander when I get home.

Cheers

John Singer Sargent did some in Florida. There's a book -- I think it's just called "The Watercolors of John Singer Sargent" -- that shows some of them.

Karen... nice posters. Interesting site.. thx.

Pam... was at Rocky Point over Thanksgiving... not sure that qualifies as Tropical... but they have good shrimp and beer.
No... I am really a transplant to Arizona... My wife and I are native Floridians... from Tampa... but also, West Palm Beach, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Jacksonville. Have only been West for about 10 years... so you see my attraction to palms and such... ahh Sanibel Island...

Brian... I think you are right about Paul and Winslow... I have a print hanging in my bedroom of a Homer painting featuring Homasassa Springs Florida that we picked up in DC... just beautiful. You can really see that wet on dry approach....

Victoria... have not seen Sargent's Fla paintings... will have to look for them. Thx for the tip.

Hope more ideas come forth... but thanks so far for all the comments...
Ray
